Café Fina, Monday [Nov 19]

Even with all the weirdness of the previous week, the plague and then the time shifting stuff, Cassandra had made a commitment Fina so she wasn't going to miss her shift. In a way, she was sort of looking forward to it. It gave her something to do, after all.

She snagged the specials board and took it back to the kitchen with her when she arrived. Then she got into a long discussion about her proposed special for the day. It wasn't that they couldn't do it, of course (this was Fina, after all), but that it was so... plebeian. It was a simple idea, but lacked any sort of understated elegance. Still, in the end, they had to admit that Cassandra's idea was at least a very tasty choice, and that won them over

Today's Special

Cassandra stood looking out over the cafe with a grin on her face. Maybe she was starting to get the hang of all this.

Around lunch time, Renee found her way to the restaurant for something non-pastry related to eat.

But she had yet to sit down as she couldn't help but eye the walking dishes warily.

Walking and talking dishes was out of place, even for hardened Gothamites.

Renee glanced over at the kid, frowning at her too. That couldn't be the same kid, right? "You-- You couldn't talk before."

Renee turned to face her, arms at her sides and ready to move just in case. "Shouldn't you be with Gordon's daughter?"

Renee nodded slowly. "And now you're here." She rolled her eyes, going back to watching the dishes, but glancing at Cassandra out of the corner of her eye occasionally. "What are the odds of that?"

Bill couldn't remember eating here much. Save a few special occasions. He supposed this counted though.

A slow smile spread over his face. "About that yeah." he said. "Less for you I guess."

"I'd love some, thanks. Who got to confuse you first this weekend?"

Bill laughed. "Yeah it was a little hard getting used to the outside world after this place."

Burton came in, chuckling to himself about the moving plates and stuff. "Still hasn't changed. Wow!"

He's filled out a bit, sure, but it's the same ol' Jack mullet and all. "Cass? Cassandra! How goes the cafe business?" he asked when he spotted her.

He didn't think it was a good idea to mention the part where they were married, divorced, and she hated his guts slightly

"Thanks, I think. You haven't changed either. Which means this is either some sort of Fandom thing, or you've got a hell of some good genes going for ya," he said with a grin.

It worked out most of the time, but when they started fighting and throwing things? It got messy.
