While Jaina was in a much easier mood than she was last week, she was feeling a little paranoid tonight. All because she kept catching Tino staring at her suspiciously. She ignored it at first, but after a while of being at work and catching him doing it, she'd finally get frustrated enough to ask "What?" and have him not answer.

This was going to go on all night. Now taking bets on whether or not Jaina ended up throttling him.

"Beer," K requested as he took a seat at the bar. "If that won't be too much trouble."

K wasn't much for the word "please". Jay was working with him on that.

"I think I can manage," Jaina said, getting a beer and setting it down in front of him. "See, no trouble."

"Well done," K replied. "Clearly you've had lots of practice."

"Well, I've been at this job for a while, and I knew how to pick things up and pour things for a while before that, so you could say that," she grinned. "You don't have any deliveries today, do you?"

Because if she got more cabbage, she didn't think that would stop Tino from looking at her funny.

"Nope," K said with a smirk. "Taking a well-deserved break from the day filled with zip codes and postage stamps."

"How could you want a break from that? It sounds thrilling," she said dryly.

Note that she'd actually been to the post office like once, ever.

Jaina frowned. "I shouldn't have asked. I think my brain just shut down," she said. "You know that off the top of your head?"

"We're the United States Postal Service," K said just before he took a sip of his beer. "We're professionals. We know the job and get it done right. Except for Valentine's day. Then we just throw away half of the cards to make things easier."

Hey. K tried to crack a joke. Weird.

"Can't blame you for that," she said, a corner of her mouth quirking up. "So who's 'we'?"

Given that she'd spoken in 'we's for a year, she kind of noticed that sort of thing.

"My fellow postal workers," K replied. "The brave men and women who suffer papercuts just to make sure that the general populace can get their issues of Entertainment weekly and highlights delivered.

Jaina lifted her glass of water in salute. "The general populace appreciates it. Well, maybe not the ones who don't get their Valentine's cards."
