Goodvalor's Little Bivoli- Monday

Annie walked into an Issue today, wherein they were receiving a mystery shipment that... didn't appear to exist. As in, the guy came to deliver the stuff and there was nothing in the boxes.

It all made sense when the delivery guy explained that he was delivering a shipment of Sprite Zero, which of course, did not exist.

Well it doesn't.

Miley had never been to this place, and wasn't even sure what it actually sold, but when she found herself wandering through town in the less-than-fantastic weather, she thought she might as well stop inside for lunch.

Or something. Whatever.

"Hey," she said brightly. "Can I get a Sprite Zero and... what do you guys actually have here?" She eyed the specials board. "Is that a word?"

"I've been assured it's a food, though I'm not sure what kind. It's from space," she said, oh so casually. "And did you mean Coke Zero?"

Okay, space food sounded scary. Pass.

"No?" Miley said, tilting her head. Though that raised an important question. "Does anyone actually like Coke Zero?"

No. No one.

"I didn't think so, but I thought maybe you meant to say Coke Zero and... didn't," she explained.

"Oh," Miley said. "Well... nope." She swiveled around on the stool, then drummed her fingers on the table once she was facing Annie again. "So. I'll take a Sprite Zero, please!"

"Oh. Well, I'm really sorry, but apparently that doesn't exist," Annie said.

This was very confusing news.

"Girl who probably gets back pain say what?"

"We got- Wait, back pain?"

Way to derail her, Miley.

"Yeeees?" Look, Annie, if you were just thrusting them in people's faces...

"My back's fine," she said, totally confused.

Miley's colloquialisms tended to do this to people.

"Good for you, then?" she tried.

"Thank you?" she said, unconsciously standing up straighter.

"So... Sprite Zero?" STAY ON TOPIC HERE, GIRLS.

"Right!" Totally on topic. "I guess we were supposed to get some in, but the delivery guy said it doesn't actually exist, so..."

Miley stared. "What? Of course it exists! Why would they deliver some otherwise?"

"They didn't. They delivered empty boxes," Annie said.

"Well... are you sure they're empty?" Miley said, peering over the counter to see if she could spot them.

"Positive. I looked inside and everything," Annie told her. "Sprite Zero is nonexistent soda, I guess."

Miley shook her head. "Nope," she declared. "I mean... it's Fandom, right? Maybe the cans are invisible or something."

"I'm from somewhere not Fandom and I've never heard of it," Annie pointed out.

"Maybe you're from somewhere weird," Miley countered.

"I'm from Colorado," she said.

Miley snapped her fingers. "That must be it."

She didn't mean it in a mean way, at least?

"Is this a prank?" Annie wondered. "Because this mystery shipment and you coming in on the same day asking for something no one's ever heard of..."

"People have heard of it!" Miley insisted. "Hannah Montana endorses it!"

That was a lie, but sort of her go-to excuse for things. So.

"I've never seen that either," Annie said. "If the guys at the company say it doesn't exist, I think it just doesn't exist."

"Maybe that's just what the company wants you to think, Annie," Miley said seriously.

...Yeah, she got like this sometimes.

Annie raised her eyebrows. "And why would they want me to think that about something they should want to sell if it actually existed?"

"..."

Aw, man.

"Dangflabbit," Miley muttered.

"Do you want a Diet Sprite?" Annie offered. "It's the same thing, right?"

Miley huffed. "Fine," she said with a wave of her hand, like she was doing Annie a favor. "And that... space food too."

"It'll be up in a jiffy," Annie said brightly. Miley had probably been thinking of Diet Sprite all along.

And there would be a man in a black suit wearing sunglasses.

"Annie Edison?" he asked. "Current employee of..."

K checked the name on the package and decided to skip trying to read the name.

"-this establishment?"

"That's me," she said, eyeing the package. "Can I help you?"

It was too early for college acceptance stuff, right? They hadn't moved to sending packages if you got accepted, had they?

"Special Agent Kevin Brown, United States Postal Inspection Service," K said flashing Annie his identification. "May I see some photo ID please?"

"Sure!" she said, getting a little excited that it had to be something really good if she needed photo ID. She got her purse and handed over the ID, asking, "Does it say where it's from?"

K glanced briefly at the box and shrugged. "Label appears to be damaged from some recent inclement weather."

"Oh. Well, I'm sure it's good," she decided.

"I'm sure it is," K said placing the package on the counter. "You have a good day, Miss Edison.

And inside, Annie would find a case of Sprite Zero.

And... a can of soup.

Funnily enough, Annie never saw any soda cans. Because when she opened the box and found the soup staring at her- WHO CARED IF IT DIDN'T HAVE EYES, IT WAS TOTALLY STARING- she dropped the box and any other contents went rolling under the counter.

OOPS.

The soup stared. Staaaaared.

It was out for blood, Annie. Blood.

Try the mystery special. I swear it's not just keysmash.

It's a 50/50 shot of whether I'll have work today, I swear.
