Trooper Station - Thursday

It was around the same time as yesterday that Roy made it back to the station after unsuccessfully trying to track down whoever had been attacking the students.

After sending Ralph off to bed, Roy sagged into the chair behind the desk and browsed through the reports from the troopers' patrols. They hadn't found anything, but when Roy listened to the radio he was pretty sure that the guy had to still be out there. When a bit later Isabel Evans dropped by to report another attack, he was sure of it.

Once done talking to the girl, Roy returned back to the chair behind the desk. He only closed his eyes for just a moment, determined to not fall asleep.

The Sheriff might be able to tell them what they needed to know. "Let us try over here" Luna said, pointing with her tail.

Roy's eyes snapped open as he heard a noise and he stared the girl and her pet for a second. "Good day," he greeted, berating himself for having dozed off.

At first, Serenity's heart leaped into her throat and her face went all flushed when she spotted the tall, dark haired ban with the broad shoulders. Did they...already find him? What was Endymion doing at a trooper's station. Overcome with too much excitement to really look any closer and realize that this was not Endymion at all, she let out an excited cry and rushed forward to embrace him. "There you are! See, Luna, I told you I'd find him!"

He usually was the type to wake up the instant his eyes opened, but Roy was so blaming still being half asleep for letting the girl get away with hugging him. It sounded better than being caught by surprised.

"I'm glad that you did, but who are you?" Roy asked, carefully trying to peel the girl off.

And when Serenity's heart had gone into throat before, it was now plummeting into her stomach. She pulled away, her face paling as her eyes already started to fill with tears. "But...Endymion, don't you..."

She blinked, staring at the man.

This...wasn't Endymion! This wasn't Endymion at all.

"Uhhh..." Hand darting behind her head as she straightened significantly, the princess let out a very nervous chuckle. "Oh....oh, my....uhhh..."

Realising that it had been a mistake, Roy grinned. "I'm Roy Mustang. I'm afraid I don't know an Endymion."

Serenity's blushing increased as the mistake became more evident, but, really, she was a young girl in love and it was an honest mistake, right? "O..oh, that...that's a shame. I'm...looking for him. You...uhhh....kind of look like him, you see, and I got excited and..." She let out a forced laugh.

Ahh, the grace of a princess.

Luna rolled her button eyes. "There you go again Princess, jumping to conclusions. I am sorry good sir."

"It's..." Roy faltered and stared at the cat. Maybe he wasn't awake after all. "It's alright," he finished, trying not to look dumbstruck and failing entirely.

"Oh good. I would hate for you to have been horribly inconvenienced by the Princess. Though i can see how she could have mistaken you for Endymion briefly." Luna jumped off Serenity's shoulder and onto the desk.

"Princess?" Roy repeated, looking from the cat to Serenity. Nope, he was still more confused about the talking cat. "Your cat talks."

Serenity was terribly bashful with blushes now, because she was thinking more about Endymion. She giggled a little shyly. "Of course she does. She is my Guardian. Wouldn't be very good to have a Guardian that doesn't talk, now, would it?"

The princess bit her lip and leaned in to whisper to Roy, "And between you and me, sometimes I really wish she didn't talk because she does not shut up, let me tell you!"

"Oh she should talk. It is always Endymion this and Endymion that, and never is her mind on the important matters. The moon Kingdom could crumble around you and you would dream it all away." Luna rolled her eyes. "Good sir, could you tell us where we are? Since SOMEONE will never get around to asking."

Roy really wasn't following what they were saying, but it seemed easiest to just nod for now.

"I won't say," he said quietly to Serenity in response to her whisper before addressing Luna's question.

"You're on Fandom island. Did you just arrive here?"

"We found ourselves in a ruined castle. There were many books around. A mere few hours ago. Where is Fandom Island? We ARE on Earth correct?"

"In a way, Fandom seems to be on Earth, but it's reachable from different worlds and timelines," he explained. "You came from the school? And you don't remember how you got there?"

"I am afraid not. We just found ourselves there." Idly Luna sat on some paperwork and started reading it. "This is not Japanese." She said pensively.

Roy frowned and reached to snatch the paperwork from underneath the cat.

"It's not and it's not for you to read either," he said brusquely. Not that he knew what Japanese was.

"Hey!" Luna yelped as things got moved from under her. "I was just looking at the language"

Roy relaxed a little, but he did put the reports safely out of the way. "I'm sorry, but those are confidential," he explained.

Serenity giggled a little at Luna getting yelled at and then quickly stopped, hand over mouth because she knew Luna wouldn't appriciate that.

Luna did not appreciate being giggled at. She stuck her nose high in the air and huffed. "Oh i am sorry, i did not realize they were private."

"This is the police station," Roy explained, but he got back to the point. "It wouldn't be the first time that people just somehow end up on this island. Maybe this Endymion you were looking for might be at the school?" he suggested.

"That's a wonderful idea!" Serenity said excitedly; she didn't know where this school might be, but if it meant finding Endymion, she was very eager to look for it. No, asking for directions didn't occur to her, because that would be a sensible things to. She picked up Luna from the desk before she could complain. "Thank you very much, sir! Sorry for the whole attacking you with hugs thing." She gave as best a curtsy as she could while holding a squirming, argumentative plushy cat and hurried out of the station.

Roy had dealt with a whole lot of worse attacks than hugs, so he just looked after the pair in amusement. With a shake of his head, he turned his attention back to the case at hand.
