The Park, Saturday Late Morning

Adam had woken up feeling restless and realized it was time to get outside. He decided to go rollerblading in the park. It was something fun to do and it was a way to get in a bit of exercise as well.

It was nice out as Adam went blading through the park and around the pond. And yes, he had made sure to wear a helmet and protective gear, even if it did make him look silly. Better safe than sorry.

[OOC: So very open! I was itching to use this icon... ;) Might be slowplayed in a bit, since people are coming over for a BBQ! And yes, it always said Saturday, I swear!]

Cassie was wandering about the park, and spotted the guy she didn't know. She waved.

Adam smiled and waved back. "Hey." Someone he had yet to meet.

"Hey," she said back. "New kid?"

Adam nodded, smiling slightly. "I'm Adam Park. I'll be a junior in the fall." He added. "I'm guessing you're not new?"

"Nope," Cassie said. "Though I guess it's weird for me to be calling people older than me 'new kid'."

Adam chuckled. "Yeah, I can see how it would be."

"Oh, I'm Cassie, by the way," she said. "Cassie Lang."

"It's nice to meet you Cassie." Adam grinned.

Cassie smiled back. "So, liking it here?"

"So far, so good." Adam nodded, chuckling a bit. "I've met a lot of really cool people and the workshops I'm in are neat."

"Oh, that's lucky," Cassie said. "My workshops are... eh, they're okay."

"Not that exciting?"

"One is taught by someone who's dead in my home dimension, and the other is by someone who I wish was dead in my dimension," Cassie said.

"Oh wow. That can't be easy to deal with." Adam admitted.

"Yeah, it's a little nuts," Cassie said.

"I've heard this place can get like that sometimes." Adam smirked.

"Just a lot," Cassie said. "Getting settled okay?"

Adam grinned and nodded. "Makes sense, I guess." What with some of the stories he'd heard. "I am, thank you. My cabinmates are pretty friendly, no trouble getting along with them."

"That's good," Cassie said. "My cabinmates are pretty nice, too."

"I'm glad to hear that." Adam smiled genuinely. "So Cassie, what do you do around here for fun?" He was curious, still being new to the island and not sure of everything there was that the island might have to offer.

"Well... I watch TV, go for walks, that sort of thing," she said, because sadly she spent too much of her time not having fun.

Adam nodded, grinning. "Sounds a lot like what I did back home."

"Yeah, same here," Cassie said. "Oh, and reading."

"Reading's a good way to pass the time." Adam smiled. "I'm a fan of mystery novels."

"I read comics a lot, too," Cassie admitted.

"Comics are cool." Adam grinned. He didn't have a favorite but he did enjoy reading them when he found the time.

"Never did much rollerblading, though," Cassie said, pointing at Adam's feet.

"Oh no?" Adam wondered why. "I love it. If you couldn't all ready tell." He chuckled.
