The vivacious candelabra had the day off, and his newest employee - a young blonde girl in a white slip dress - was standing at his station instead.

She was uncertain about this, as it was indeed her first day of work, last Monday's training session notwithstanding. But she was a TA in a class about Self-Confidence, and that should help.

Naminé really hoped that none of the plates attempted a revolt.

The Specials board read:

Dessert: Today Only: White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Well, if they were going to let her choose, they should have expected her to stay with her usual color scheme.

The cheese-grater is hoping that he can get someone to cover his shifts, too. He's kinda hoping to get something going with one of the plates ...

It's her first day, so please don't traumatize her too badly.

Leo~~'s Mun must live vicariously through him in order to enjoy tempting dessert~~ decided to go out for lunch today, so he headed to Cafe Fina. "Hey." he greeted the blond girl.

Naminé curtsied lightly and smiled. "Good morning, and welcome to Café Fina. I'm Naminé, please do come in and be our guest." Her first day, but she did know the lingo. "Have you been to our establishment before?"

"Hey Namine, I'm Leo.~~how'd you get the accent marks on there?~~ I was here once a while ago I think." He looked around at the walking utensils. "I don't think they were here."

Naminé laughed. "It's quite all right. Just that I was told to warn people, in case they were likely to be upset. The utensils and plates and so on are delighted to be serving you, and so am I. If you have any musical requests, now would be a good time to share. They're fond of singing."

(OOC: Hold down Alt and press 1, then 3, then 0, and let Alt go. Voila! Also I am headed out the door for a picnic and will not be back for a few hours, sorry! Can we pick this up then?)

Leo thought about that. "Do they know any Foghat?" he asked.

ooc: not a problem.

"I'm not certain. I shall see." Naminé had a brief word with the cheese grater, who passed it on to the pepper shaker, and the plates had a rather interesting sort of conversation.

And then everyone began waltzing in what was a strange, yet oddly pretty, approximation of "Slow Ride."

Naminé beamed. "We do aim to please. Won't you be seated?"

(Back! Sorry about that! Hooray for Memorial Day!)

Leo had to boggle a moment, then broke out in a grin. "Far out Man." He then sat where she'd indicated.

"It is. This Foghat of yours is fascinating." She smiled and handed him a menu. "I've been told the gray stuff is delicious, but I haven't braved it myself. Everything I have tried has been delightful, however. What can I get for you?"

"Gray stuff?" Leo asked, confused. "That sounds kinda iffy. How about meatloaf?"

"I don't blame you, I'm suspicious of it myself," Naminé said in a low tone, laughing a little. "Meatloaf, coming right up."

And then she had to clarify to the rather nice cheesegrater and plates that no, the gentleman still wished for more Foghat, and whoever Meat Loaf was, that wasn't what she had meant.

Leo might not have minded actually, but the pun was appreciated.

"You guys are pretty good." he complimented the plates and ect.

The plates bowed respectfully.

"We sing mostly upbeat ditties, but the classics are always the classics," said one knife.

"You guys have a favorite number?"

The cheese grater nodded and pulled a baton out and began waving it.

On cue, the dishes burst into a rousing chorus of "Be Our Guest!"

Leo giggled.

The pepper shaker interrupted the reverie in order to produce Leo's meatloaf. So meaty! So loafy! C'est bonne!

Of course, once he left, the dishes launched into "Seventy-Six Trombones."

Leo couldn't remember when he'd enjoyed a meatloaf more. Of course it's possible the drugs have something to do with that.

Afterwards of course, he's gonna have to try that cheesecake.

"It's today's special," Naminé explained, cutting him a slice. "They asked me to choose and I asked if they had anything white or pale blue, and this sounded exquisite."

She flushed a little. "I'll admit, I let them cut me a slice. They said I needed to sample it and be sure it was all right. It's utterly divine."

"That sounds fantastic Man." Leo smiled. "Nothin' wrong with enjoying a bit of cake."

"I hope my boss feels the same," Naminé smiled. "I should hate to be fired on my first day for sampling the cafe's wares."

The world, it must not end. Not even for white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.
