The Arms Hotel Lobby, Thursday morning

Mary's back at the front desk today. She's still trying to make sense of the conversation she had with Jillian Deline the other night. The only conclusion she's come to is that Fandom really doesn't exist on the same plane of existence as the Las Vegas that she comes from. Or Las Vegas doesn't really exist on the same plane of existence as Fandom. Either way, it's not making sense without any caffeine and Gunther is insisting that his cucumber sandwiches can only be paired with chamomile tea.

Maybe she can bribe someone into getting her real coffee.

[OOC: Open for any hotel business]

Stan walked into the lobby with a smile, expecting to see a restaurant.

"I was hoping for a good Southern meal," he said with a smirk. "How goes the restaurant and hotel business?"

"That would be perfect. With tea, if you have any left," he smiled.

"Decaf? I thought that was the point of tea. Tasty, not as evil as coffe, but still full of wakeup sauce." Stan frowned.

[lj's been slow on a lot of things lately. :) ]

"There's nothing that says that sauerkraut and kielbasa can't go well with ribs. Unless the waitstaff is in lederhosen, which I'm sure will attract the best servers from far and wide," he said with a mostly straight face.

"I can only imagine. Not pretty, indeed. You talked him out of it?"

"She sounds like a character. I'd hate to see what she'd do here in Fandom. We'd have a stream of people from the Mainland around the island and back," he said with a smirk.

"That's probably for hte best," he agreed.

"There is that. When it's not being attacked," he admitted. "Nice and quiet, with some good fishing spots."

"Yes. The sacred art of spending hours at the water with a hook on a string on a stick, drowning worms," he said with a smirk. "It's very relaxing."

"Being away from everything that buzzes, rings, or involves paperwork. The sound of the waves. The feel of the water if you're in a boat. The chance to sit and snooze and spend time in nature without people insisting that you go 'do' something. It's like... a license to chill."

"For some people, it's the fish. Fishing for sport, or fishing for food. For me, the actual fish is... incidental." He smiled a bit bashfully. "I suppose it's meditation."

"There's a few by the beaches, out by the docks. I don't go to the one by the Caritas bar, else I'd have to deal with the owner. Not conducive to fishing," he said with a smile. "I could show you around sometime, point out the better spots."
