Graveyard: Thursday Night

Yet another night in the graveyard finds Mel and Willow patrolling.

Since there are no vampires in Fandom, it's really just an excercise in futility but it's good to remain in practice.

Plus Mel can try and get a new nickname for English Peter going.

"Seriously. At the campfire last night I called Peter 'Sweetie Petey' and he seemed to like it."

Tonight's snack of choice was ice cream cones. "I find I can only get away with that if he and I... um, talk. For a while. First."

"Really. What do you talk about?" Mel said with a snicker.

"Lately the missage," Willow admitted. "The cabins are nice in the quaint and rusticy way, not so much the smoochy way. Which people who are not me yet are still in this conversation may have discovered."

"I don't know what you mean Will," Mel said innocently. "There is however this quaint and rusticy shack not too far away from the campground..."

Willow grinned. "I call dibs on it for June 21st."

"What's the 21st?" Mel asked. "Some kind of anniversary?"

"Of a sort." Willow nodded. "But I haven't mentioned it to Peter yet."

"He doesn't know it's an anniversary?" Mel asked. "That's kind of an important concept that you both know the date."

"He's a boy," Willow said. "Never expect them to remember dates on things. If you want that you'd probably have to start dating a girl."

"Well that's never been ruled out," Mel joked. "But I know I wouldn't want someone like me. I'm too high maintenance."

"Buffy did find the dating scene to be difficult," Willow said. "Of course she did choose from an interesting pool of applicants. You're ahead of the game if you're not going after vampires."

"Yeah. It's bad enough having a relative," Mel said shaking her head. "Besides apparently I seem to attract the arrogant royalty type who like to throw fireballs."

Willow gave Mel a friendly bump of her hip. "But the stubborn royalty types can be awfully cute."

Mel looked around the graveyard as if checking for squirrels with press hats.

"Maybe a little," she admitted. "When he gets all flaily."

"Flaily is cute," Willow agreed. "They go all stammery and blushy and then you have to smooch them."

"And he's pretty good at that too," Mel said getting a happy expression on her face.

Which she quickly changes to a serious one. "Tell anyone that and I'd have to hurt you."

"Tell anyone what?" Willow replied, looking innocent.

"That's my girl," Mel said with a grin. "So... what the anniversary on the 21st for? First date?"

"Nah, that was the luau," Willow said. "Which was also the anniversary of our fist kiss. He was all polite about it. He even asked if he could, which still makes me all melty."

Mel gave Willow a grin. "So the 21st is the first time you guys... talked?"

Suddenly Willow was as red as a really red thing. If only there was a nearby red item of some sort that her redness could be compared to. Oh well.

"Um... no. Though there was thinking."

Well there was the hair to use for comparison. Or Mel's axe scythe.

Mel however couldn't help but just smirk. "Oh. So what was it then?"

Willow kept blushing. "We just had a nice time together is all."

"Must have been really nice time," Mel said with a knowing look. Possibly a dirty one.

"He was a perfect gentleman!" Willow replied. Then, halfway to herself, added, "Which hopefully he won't be tomorrow."

"Miss Rosenberg!" Mel said in a mock-shocked tone. "I'm amazed at you!"

"A girl has needs, darn it!" Willow replied. "I am way behind on my smoochy quotas since we started this whole cabin thing."

"Going anyplace special?" Mel asked. "Or is it a secret?"

"For the camping? I do not know," Willow admitted. "Peter usually handles those details and I make sure there's chocolate."

"A vital element for every date," Mel said. "Not that I'd know anything about that."

"There's usually swimming and cooking and making of tea," Willow said. "Though last year that was pretty much all it was. Gentleman, again."

"He is pretty much a perfect guy," Mel agreed. "Though he and Seely seem to not hit it off so well."

"Because Peter is smart and Seely's a big ol' jerk."

"He's nice to me," Mel replied. "Plus he teased Zuko and made him flail. I just wish I was there to watch."

"He's put hands in places hands should not go," Willow said. "He's lucky he's not still a puppet."

"Puppet? Seriously?" Mel asked. "Do you have pictures?"

Willow grinned. "Oh yes. It's not the sort of thing that you let get lost to time. I can show you when we get back."

"I love this school," Mel grinned. "It always give you something fun to deal with."

"It does have many advantages," Willow agreed.
