Luke's Diner, June 1
Apparently whoever it was at the Perk who handled bulk coffee orders wasn't too fluent in Wordless Grunting. It was usually the morning cook's job to place the diner's coffee order on Wednesdays (since he actually, oh, talked), but he'd been unconscious at the time and no one else had been willing to do it, so the job had fallen to Yitzhak.
(Hey, just because the cook had been making scathing remarks about Yitzhak's latest dress purchase didn't mean Yitzhak had had a damn thing to do with the cast-iron frying pan that had landed on his head, okay?)
This, unfortunately, meant that the stockroom and kitchen were now stocked to capacity with coffee grounds, and they were running out of places to put it; Yitzhak was brewing one pot after another just to clear off some counter space, and if customers weren't around to drink it he was having it himself . . . or forcing the kitchen staff to do so.
This made for a very hyper work atmosphere today. And also accounted for the Coffeehouse Rock theme.
Today's Specials
"Slow Like Honey" Barbecue Chicken
"Murder (Or a Heart Attack)" Triple Bacon Cheeseburger
"Eggplant" Parmesan
"Pig"s in a Blanket
"Life is Sweet" Tea
"Blue on Black"berry Pie
"Them Apples" Pie
Luke's is open, and very, very caffeinated -- and still with a NOW HIRING sign in the window.
[OOC: No OCD today, ZOMG.]

It's a non-subtle 'for the love of god help me get rid of some of this coffee' sort of greeting, but a greeting nonetheless.

She takes a seat at the counter. "Hi there. Could I get a cup of that?" she asks.

A moment, and he quirks an eyebrow questioningly, hoping she'll have something besides just the coffee.
[OOC: Am not getting comment notifications. Argh.]

"So, what looks good tonight on the menu?" she asks.
[I just got a notification for something posted 3 hours ago.]

He might also be surreptitiously keeping an eye on the level of coffee in her cup, waiting for the first opportunity to top it off.

"It's been a while since I've had a really good burger, but the chicken sounds too good to pass up," she says with a grin.

A rather pointed, if ironic, a capella rendition of "Nag (http://www.joanjett.com/Lyrics/lyrics/Nag.htm)" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts can be heard drifting back into the front of the diner. Yitzhak has interesting ways of applying the metaphorical lash to his workers.

He's in a rare good mood today.

Of course, the coffee is starting to make her feel jumpy.
