Trooper Station - Sunday brunch

When Roy wandered into the station that morning, he found the lobby filled with tables he was pretty sure hadn't been there before. The plastic chairs had been moved around them, creating space to eat at while the tables pushed against the wall were filled with enough food to rival an officer's ball.

When Roy tried to find Ralph to ask what the hell was going on, the trooper was mysteriously missing. Roy had a sneaking suspicion he'd been set up. At least it involved free food. Grabbing a cup of coffee and some pastries, he settled behind the front desk and started reading in a book on Earth military.

((OCD coming. And it's up.))

"It is?" Odd. "There a 'no personal gain' type stipulation goin' on there?"

"Keeping the balance. Makes sense," Aiden said. "Can't make something out of nothing, after all. Simple scientific theory at work on that one."

"Unless you're one of those people with some crazy sort of good luck..." Aiden nodded, "I suppose that's very true."

"Join the club," Aiden said with a wry smile. "Least we get more satisfaction out of it in the end, right?"

"Here's hopin' it comes out nicely in the end, like it's supposed to when you do the work," Aiden said, raising her mug of coffee in a vague toast.
