The Devil's Nest, Tuesday (06/05)
Aziraphale arrived at the Nest a little early tonight. The first thing he did was make sure that all the liquor bottles were in good order, and nothing was out of place. Then he made a mental note to double check that again when he locked up.
Next, he set a sign on the bar.
All "Tea" Drinks Half Off Tonight
When he had everything ready, he unlocked the doors and settled himself onto a stool behind the bar, with a well-loved copy of Lady Windermere's Fan.

Re: Bar
and still being slow playedconversation (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/1757033.html) at the Perk that afternoon, Lucifer returned to the club late, taking a seat at the bar instead of heading for the wine cellar as planned.Re: Bar
"What would like tonight?" he asked, trying to remind himself that Lucifer wasn't one of his students, and so therefore he should keep the prying to a minimum. It would be interesting to see how long that lasted.
Re: Bar
"Vodka martini."
Re: Bar
At least the martini wasn't one of those drinks with a long list of ingredients. Aziraphale whipped up what he felt was probably a pretty good one, and set it on a napkin in front of Lucifer.
"You look...thoughtful."
Re: Bar
"I ran into someone today, an old acquaintance of ours."
Re: Bar
"An old acquaintance," he repeated in a murmur. "Why does that sound rather ominous?"
Re: Bar
Re: Bar
Aziraphale's tone was one of mingled disbelief and annoyance. The last time he'd spoken to Gabriel, the angel had been hanging about with Metatron. Which combination usually meant trouble for Aziraphale, in the way that one's irritating older brothers ganging up to play pranks meant trouble.
"What in HIS name is he doing here?"
Re: Bar
Re: Bar
"Er... are you certain it was Gabriel? I mean, he just doesn't seem the type. Certainly not to mess with Michael."
Aziraphale frowned, and decided a vodka martini sounded awfully good.
Re: Bar
Re: Bar
"That's probably true. I just can't imagine my Gabriel doing anything remotely like that. What do you think it means, that he's... I'm sorry, did you say that he's mortal?"
Re: Bar
Re: Bar
Still...human.
He took a long swallow of his martini. "What did you think of him?"
Re: Bar
There was very little else to say about the poor creature.
Re: Bar
Asking, he suspected, was only likely to get him pushed away.
Re: Bar
Lucifer sipped his martini, a small smirk on his lips.
Re: Bar
"I must confess, I've been considering giving you a bit of grief over the state of your dance card. Seems that you've been dancing with everyone but me."
Re: Bar
Re: Bar
Yeah, that might have had something to do with it.
Aziraphale had the grace to look a little embarassed, as the joke was turned back on him. "Quite," he chuckled. "Although in my defense, I'm not certain I've ever asked anyone to dance."
Re: Bar
Re: Bar
"Well, I'll have to make certain my employer doesn't mind me dancing while I'm supposed to be tending bar, but I don't suppose you'd be so good as to dance with me?"
Re: Bar
Re: Bar
"Thank you, my dear. I get to lead, of course."
That...might not have been entirely a joke.

Dance Floor
Re: Dance Floor
He turned to face the other angel and smiled, holding out his hand. "Please don't hold it against me that I'm not as good at this as James. I haven't learned very many of the newer dances yet."
Re: Dance Floor
Re: Dance Floor
"I think you've got yourself a bit backwards," he said, with a cheeky smile.
Re: Dance Floor
"Do I?"
Re: Dance Floor
"I suspect that you already know this. And I suppose this means I'm not going to be allowed to lead."
