The Devil's Nest; Saturday Night. [ 06/09 ]

Setsuna had slipped into an experimenting mode again, trying out various different new concoctions. And someone had to try them, right? Right. Well, after a few attempts, Setsuna was starting to feel...pretty good. Little she realize one experiment here, one experiment there, and she'll probably be regretting it in the morning.

The Devil's Nest is open!

[[ a million and one apologies for forgetting last night's post, but it slipped by mind and, by the time I remembered, I didn't have computer access. I probably won't have computer access again tonight, either, so tonight is a good night to be modding service.... ]]

Gabriel had gone for a walk that night, when he's stumbled across the bar. The name had caught his attention. He'd frowned, remembering Lucifer mentioning a club, then shook his head. "He can't be that obvious." Then again, he probably could. Chuckling to himself, Gabriel entered and walked over to the bar and ordered a gin and tonic.

No more than a former angel living in a church, really.

"Gabriel."

"Lucifer." Gabriel raised his glass. "This is you retirement plan?"

Lucifer glanced around the club as he took a seat at the bar. "Part of it."

Gesturing around the room, Gabriel replied: "Charming. You have a squirrel problem here too?"

"Squirrel problem," Lucifer repeated dryly. He always though Gabriel was a bit off due to his function, but he hadn't expected questions about rodents.

"No, no squirrel problems here."

While Aziraphale sipped at his wine, he watched the not-quite-a-stranger from a careful distance. Seemed Lucifer had been right, which he supposed he shouldn't have doubted.

He couldn't decide what he thought about having Gabriel -- even if it wasn't his Gabriel -- in town. So he watched carefully, and for the moment kept his silence.

[ooc: I know timezones are weird, so if you'd prefer not to get into SP, feel free to have Gabriel not notice Aziraphale. :)]

Gabriel knew he was being watched. He might have lost everything else, but he still sensed the identity of of people around him. He stared back for a moment before giving a curt nod in greeting.

[Damn timezones! SP is fine]

Aziraphale returned the nod, and then after a moment's hesitation, got up from his seat and walked over.

"You must be Gabriel," he said carefully.

"Aziraphale," Gabriel replied. He didn't recognise him. "This is your kind of place?" he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Well, I hadn't thought so at first, but I was wrong about that," Aziraphale admitted. "In fact, I've discovered that it's very much my sort of place. It just takes a bit of getting used to."

Millie hurried in, trying to catch up with Proudfoot, then stopped when she saw, or maybe sensed, the man at the bar. "Oh my," she said to herself. "Another one!"

Gabriel looked up at the woman. "Well, hello, Millie. I don't think we met," he said acidly.

Millie looked surprised. "No, I don't believe we have. And yet you know my name?"

Gabriel shrugged. "Or is it the Living Asheth on holiday? This place seems to attract people who are taking a break from things." He raised an eyebrow. There was nothing friendly in his tone.

Millie tipped her head, face hardening at his tone. "Then you should know that I am no longer the Living Asheth. Haven't been in some time." Despite her words, the shadowy second set of arms had appeared and she'd unconsciously drawn herself up into her most regal stance.

Aziraphale felt like spending a little bit of time on the customer side of the bar, and since Wilson was on clinic duty, it seemed like a good night for that. Walking in, he gave Musubi and Setsuna each a warm smile and ordered a glass of wine.

He wasn't feeling contemplative enough for scotch. Maybe he'd get up his courage and try something that came with an umbrella in it next.

Proudfoot had gotten ahead of Millie and made her way up to the bar. She froze for a brief moment when she saw who else was there, then pounced upon Aziraphle, intent on wrapping her arms around him and rubbing her face up against him. "Aziraphale!"

Maybe compared to some people around town these days, six thousand wasn't a lot of time. But it was the entirety of existance to Aziraphale.

And in the entirety of existance, he had never had a woman pounce on him and rub him with her face.

"ARGH!" he exclaimed, almost upsetting his drink, until he realized just who this woman actually was. "Proudfoot?"

She purred and wrapped her arms around him even tighter. "You knew me! I knew you would. The Goddess said not to be so sure, but I knew you would and I was right!"

With a still half-shocked laugh, Aziraphale hugged her in return. "Yes, I knew you, although it did take me just a moment. I, er...I thought you were a cat?"
