Chilly Boulder [early afternoon]

"So that's the town," Luke said to Leia, concluding his tour. "And this is the ice cream place. It has about a million flavors, but I'm hoping I can work my way through them all by the end of the summer."

If his eyes flickered over to his sister more often than necessary, it was because he was happy to see her. Not that he was worried at all.

Really.

"I'm sure you can manage, if you're really determined," Leia said. She was going for 'completely normal', and probably put on a fair show. Sometimes you just had to compartmentalize things.

Luke gave her another small smile. "I'm sure the stomachache'll be worth it," he said. "You have to try something with marshmallows. And chocolate. And nuts. And whipped cream."

Someone probably didn't need more sugar...

She raised her eyebrows, asking, "Do I get to keep all my own teeth afterwards?"

Luke snickered. "Most of the time," he promised. "Really, it's good. Just don't put ice cream into hot chocolate. It just gets gloppy."

The reason why Luke wasn't allowed near the Falcon's galley was becoming readily apparent again.

"Why does it not surprise me that you know that?" she asked, smiling at the mental image.

"I have a lot of time on my hands sometimes," Luke said. "It was an experiment that...probably should've stayed in the hypothetical."

He walked up to the counter and ordered himself a sundae virtually guaranteed to induce a sugar coma, then smiled at Leia. "Have you decided yet?"

"If I choose chocolate, does that mean I can use about five less toppings?" she teased.

Luke stuck his tongue out at her. "I suppose," he said, dragging the last word out for a ridiculously long time.

She ordered the chocolate, and said, "I will let you advise me on what I should really try. Choose wisely."

He smiled at her. "I've missed you," he said quietly, then told the clerk to add pecans and whipped cream.

"I've missed you, too," Leia said with a small smile. "You know you are welcome back at any time. Not just to save the galaxy."

Luke slid into a booth and dug into his sundae to buy himself some time. "I'm learning a lot about the Jedi here," he said carefully. "I'll need it to rebuild the Order after I graduate."

"I understand," Leia said slowly, though given the other Jedi she knew was here, she wasn't sure she wanted to know how. "There are things that need to be done. But the offer stands."

Luke smiled over at her and stuck his spoon out, attempted to swipe some of her ice cream. "I know," he said. "And I'll come home as often as I can. This is temporary. My place is with you and Han." He smiled. "As the permanent third wheel."

There were many new things here at Fandom that Qui-Gon was happy to be trying and indulging in. Ice cream? Was high on that list.

He looked up at the menu board of choices when he came in, trying to decide if he wanted to go with the one with marshmallows added or the one with berries.

Luke turned to see who had come in and grinned as he recognized Qui-Gon. "Hi!" he said. "Come meet my twin sister." He pointed to the brunette standing next to him. "Leia Organa, meet Qui-Gon Jinn. Qui-Gon's from our past. You get used to that sort of thing around here."

That got an eyebrow raise, but Leia greeted Qui-Gon with a pleasant smile and a "It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Likewise," Qui-Gon said, giving her a short formal bow. "Are you coming to school here as well?"

Luke shook his head before Leia could open her mouth. "She's just here for the weekend," he said.

"I hope you're enjoying your visit." Now that he was looking for it, he could sense from her the same Force potential as in Luke. "Are you undertaking Jedi training back on Coruscant then?"

After the conversation Leia had yesterday, especially the end, she wasn't even going to think about anything like that at the moment. Especially when... yeah. "My responsibilities lie somewhere else at the moment," she said, because she was nothing if not diplomatic.

Luke beamed at her proudly. "She's part of the government," he said.

"Really," Qui-Gon said glancing between them. "You didn't tell me you were so well connected.

Luke grinned again, obviously teasing his sister. "It's not much of a government yet."

"We're working on it," she said, grinning. "It will be."

Tori had wanted some ice cream ever since yesterday. She wondered if giving Yoda chocolate had been a bad idea, even if he had been in human form.

Entering Chilly Boulder, she had no idea what she wanted. Maybe chocolate, that might be good.

Luke gave Tori a brilliant smile when he saw her. "Hi!" he said, bouncing over. "Come meet my sister. Tori, this is Leia. Leia, this is Tori. The one I told you about?"

Poor Luke, unwise in the way that relatives might react to girlfriends.

"Hi Luke." Tori grinned brightly. "Okay, sure." She smiled a little nervously, when she saw Leia. "Hi Leia, it's nice to meet you." She extended her hand out, not wanting to be rude. "Luke's told me a lot about you."

Leia went to shake her hand, giving her a smile. "I could say the same about you," she said.

Tori smiled, blushing ever so slightly. "I hope it wasn't anything bad." She joked, knowing it wasn't.

Luke stepped between them, giving them both huge smiles.

Not at all nervously.

Really.

"I never say anything bad!" he babbled.

Tori couldn't but grin at that. "I know, I was teasing."

He didn't have anything to be nervous about, really! Well, at least with her.
