Trooper Station: Wednesday Afternoon

Dale is currently fiddling around with his new little recording device in between bites of jelly doughnuts and swigs of coffee.

All of his paperwork has been completed for the day so anyone stopping by would probably get his full attention.

Mary walked into the Trooper Station tentatively. Ed Deline had reassured her (again!) that Metro couldn't find her in Fandom, but she was still nervous talking to the authorities. Still, it didn't hurt to get to know them. You never knew when a hotel guest may overstay their welcome.

Mary smiled back. At least she knew Dale.

"Not bad," she said. "I just found a local business that can supply most of what I need for my remodeling project at the hotel. Now if my chef and I can just agree on a concept and menu for the hotel restaurant, things would be perfect."

"Gunther just had this idea of opening a vegan restaurant, but I don't think he even understands what a vegan is. Besides, his specialty is pork. He makes a fantastic pork tenderloin," said Mary. "I'd like to have a place that offers afternoon tea. It's not something that's already available in Fandom."

"There will definitely be coffee," said Mary reassuringly. "I just didn't want to open a coffee shop and compete directly with The Perk. High tea is different and you associate it with fancy hotels and resorts."

"Don't forget the scones and clotted cream. We'll have the works," promised Mary.

"It's only part of the picture," said Mary. "We'll only offer tea on Saturday afternoons, and I'm really thinking it's more for the tourists crowd -- when we get tourists," she added with a smirk. "There'll be other types of food as well for the teenagers."

Mary's face lit up. "That's a good one!" she said. "I should write that down for my tourism brochure. Somewhere out there is someone into adventure vacations that will pay good money to run from a gremlin. I don't think anyone warned me about the trolls, though. Or I just forgot about them with all the vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and kids."
