Trooper Station - Saturday

Having listened to the radio, Roy had realised that something had definitely been up yesterday. Which made him wonder about some of the phonecalls he'd received and made. It was best not to dwell however and he'd had a pretty good evening. Sadly enough, paperwork didn't seem to vanish over night.

Emma had also heard the radio broadcast, but she didn't think that meant this Roy Mustang could get out of taking her to dinner. So after a quick look in the directory, she walked into the Trooper station.

"Hello?" she called out. "I'm looking for Roy Mustang?"

He'd just been getting from files from the front desk and looked up at the voice. Then took a moment to appreciate the outfit. Really, that might not be a miniskirt, but it was pretty damn close enough.

"That would be me," he said, straightening up. "How can I help you, miss?"

"I'm here to take you up on that dinner invitation," Emma smiled. Ooh, handsome. That was a definite advantage in a dinner companion. "I'm Emma Frost."

"Dinner invitation?" Roy asked, for a moment confused. He was pretty sure he'd remember asking her out.

Emma nodded. "So my voicemail told me. And I promise I won't break your knee caps," she added, in case he was worried about that.

"Ah," he nodded, the reference making it pretty clear what had happened. And it somehow felt rude to tell her that was meant for someone else. Besides, he couldn't help briefly glancing at the outfit again.

"Well, I'd hate not to honour one of my commitments. So I would love to take you to dinner, miss Frost," he said with an easy smile.

Emma smiled back, pleased. "Do call me Emma. So, where were you taking me? For dinner?"

"That would depend on what you prefer," Roy smirked, rather pleased as well. "It seems like most establishments here offer excellent service. Do you prefer formal or a bit more casual?"

Emma considered her food options. "Perhaps Ching Tai or Cafe Fina? I hear the hotel will be getting a restaurant as well, but I don't believe it's open yet."

And there was the whole thing where his invite had actually been meant for Mary which might be a bit weird.

"I haven't tried Chinese food yet," Roy said. "So if you'd be willing to help me out there, I think Ching Tai might work."

"Sounds good to me. I haven't been there yet either, but I've heard very good things," Emma nodded. She smiled. "Tomorrow, then?"

Roy grinned and inclined his head. "Tomorrow sounds perfect. Shall we meet up there? At seven?"

"Perfect," Emma agreed. "I'll see you then!" She gave him a cheerful grin and a small wave as she started to exit the station. "I'm sure we'll have a lovely time."

Roy grinned. "I'm sure we will," he agreed. "I'll see you tomorrow, Emma."
