Fandom High Welcome Picnic, The Park, All Day: Part III

Oh look, there's another part of the park where people are starting to gather to chat.

Charlie had shown up half-way through the picnic, gotten some food, and settled in to people-watch. Making sure she and Peter Petrelli were half a picnic away from each other the whole time.

Buffy had gotten herself an iced tea and was now back to people watching.

Donatello wandered ~~over to the third post, because the second was very crowded~~ down to the picnic a little later in the day, hoping that the crowd would have thinned out a little. The normal-sized turtle in Donnie's hand hid in his shell when they went out into the bright sunshine, but soon emerged to look around curiously.

Dick had refilled his drink and was checking out the new kids again.

Dean spotted Charlie through the crowd and went over to check on her. "How you doing?" he asked with a smile.

Charlie relaxed into a smile, and sat up a little straighter. "Hey. I'm doing pretty good, really. How are you? Do you have a new little sib to look after?" Which might have made a pang of jealousy flare, just a little.

Johnny mingled, now shirtless, thanks to his little new sister.

She hoped she could keep all the new kids names straight. She's met so many so far and already had pie plans with one of them. Go her!

Getting another root beer, she sat down for a minute or two to enjoy it.

"Hi, Annette." He said, not far over from where she sat.

Annette looked up and choked on her root beer..."Aaaa!"

"Crap! What?" He crouched down and started patting her on the back. "You okay?"

She waved her hand, closed her eyes shut tight, and nodded, "Go. Go away. You have no shirt on. I can't look. Go away."

"Is this because of the whole Dick thing? That's so over. Maan!"

Was it over? Was she being silly?

She peeked through her fingers at him. "Well, you did say you were sorry."

Johnny felt slight apprehensive, "Is he, uh, around? Today?"

She nodded quickly, "Somewhere, mingling. Yes. That would be a yes, Johnny."

"Yeah," Dean said. "Bart Allen. He seems kinda cool, but not as pretty as you. And I'm not sure I'd trust him yet with a trapped ghost so no field trips to ex brothels for him."

"All right then, well, catcha later, Annette." Johnny turned around and walked away, trying to appear as nonchalant as possible.

Was he afraid Dick would see? Hell no, he just didn't want to like, upset Annette or anyone else, if he had to beat up Dick again. Yeah.

She completely couldn't help the fact that this cheered her up, and made her blush a little. "Cool. I'll have to say hi to him, when we run into each other. Siblings of Dean, Unite." Charlie grinned and ate a potato chip. "Isabel and Turtle both said they'd help me with, you know. Practicing. Maybe later this week, everything's crazy with the new people and 4th of July."

Charlie blinked at the shirtlessness, remembering Alec on her first day here, then shook her head, a little bemused. "Hey, Johnny."

"Hey, Charlie!" He said with concern, taking measures to be closer to her. "How are you?"

"I'm-- okay, mostly." Charlie winced a little, looking down at her plate of food. "I'm sorry if I worried you at the party. Running away like that. I just couldn't deal."

"Yeah, you worried me. Figured you needed time to deal...But how come you didn't tell me? Before I mean? I could have...helped..."
