Charlie had shown up half-way through the picnic, gotten some food, and settled in to people-watch. Making sure she and Peter Petrelli were half a picnic away from each other the whole time.

Dean spotted Charlie through the crowd and went over to check on her. "How you doing?" he asked with a smile.

Buffy had gotten herself an iced tea and was now back to people watching.

"Buffy!" Donnie called, before trotting over to join her. "Do you have a minute?"

Donatello wandered over to the third post, because the second was very crowded down to the picnic a little later in the day, hoping that the crowd would have thinned out a little. The normal-sized turtle in Donnie's hand hid in his shell when they went out into the bright sunshine, but soon emerged to look around curiously.

Charlie blinked at the shirtlessness, remembering Alec on her first day here, then shook her head, a little bemused. "Hey, Johnny."

River raise an eyebrow at the new student. Appearantly it didn't take long for some people to learn about shirtlessness. "Too hot for you?" she asked, looking perfectly serious.

Dean had seen Charlie talking to who he assumed was Johnny Storm from the glimpses he'd got during football practice and headed over there after Charlie had moved off.

"Don't hurt her," he warned.

She hoped she could keep all the new kids names straight. She's met so many so far and already had pie plans with one of them. Go her!

Getting another root beer, she sat down for a minute or two to enjoy it.

Johnny grabbed a drink, and started wandering through the field. There were so many people around at this picnic, and it was strange for someone like him to see all this without the familiar carnival tents around.

"Hey," Charlie said, as one of the kids passed by. "I'm Charlie. Welcome to Fandom." She gave him a dimpled grin and said, "I swear, the weirdness is mostly fun weirdness."

"Hi," she said, approaching him. "I'm Annette Hargrove," and she held out her hand to him.

Dawn sat down with a bunch of food that she then proceeded to put into one sandwich. She was currently trying to figure out how to wrap her mouth around it and having limited success.

Inara wandered around by the pond, throwing bits of roll to the fish. Or at least she thought it was fish in the pond.

"Maybe I should be throwing something bigger..."

After work at the construction site shut down for the day, Xander wandered over to the park. It probably said something about how Fandom-jaded he'd become that he was there half for the free food, and half to play 'Spot the alternate-universe versions of people I know; drink an extra shot if they're supposed to be dead.'

While social gathering aren't really Mac's thing at all, she does feel like she should make an effort for the new students.

She's hanging around where there are people, at least.

Sokka needed instructions on how to chat. Instructions like "don't try to do it while eating an enormous pile of food". Because that's what he was doing.
