Devil's Nest, Wednesday Night 7/4

It was just another day for the ninja, so it was probably a good thing that he was opening the bar instead of someone who would rather be celebrating. The place was fairly clean already, so he merely straightened a few things before sitting down behind the bar with a book.

Ninjas and fallen angels had that in common. One revolution out of millions didn't spark any kind of interest in Lucifer.

"A Merlot."

Kabuto looked up, smirked slightly, and closed his book. "I can do that," he replied, getting Lucifer his wine and pouring him a glass.

"Thank you," Lucifer replied, idly swirling the wine before taking a small taste. "Shouldn't you be off celebrating something or other?"

"Why?" Kabuto asked, raising an eyebrow. "I've never understood why people get so passionate about something like that. To me, things like villages and countries...they hold no firm reality in my mind." He shrugged. "Not something to get so worked up over."

Lucifer shrugged. "You seem to enjoy surprising people..."

"I like to be unpredictable in most cases," Kabuto admitted. "But if I was unpredictable all the time...I'd be predictable."

"Which just wouldn't do at all."

"Precisely." Kabuto crossed his arms, leaning on the bar.

Sipping the wine, Lucifer arched an eyebrow at the leaning ninja. "You appear to be in a better mood today."

"Moods come and go, don't they?" Kabuto shrugged. "Every day is different than the one before. Did your weekend go well?"

"Better than I had expected," Lucifer admitted with a small nod.

"So, how come you aren't off celebrating by blowing things up?" the ninja asked curiously.

"Do I look the type for casual explosions?" Lucifer asked, a dry humor in his voice. He shook his head and set the wine glass down. "One small revolution means very little in the grand scheme of things."

"You're the type who enjoys being unpredicatable, too," Kabuto pointed out. "It's best not to assume things about you."

"Smart boy," Lucifer said. "Though I'm not entirely unpredictable."

Which was true. Some actions were completely predictable. Just not the important ones.

"Not always. But that's a good thing, remember?" Kabuto smiled, picking up Lucifer's glass and taking a sip from it.

Lucifer reached over to catch Kabuto's hand before the sip could be completed. "Yes. I suppose so."

Kabuto glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. "..What?"

"Did I say you could have some?"

"Was I asking?" Kabuto responded insolently.

Insolent boy. He did enjoy this side of Kabuto so.

"No, I suppose not," Lucifer replied. "But it was still quite rude." His grip tightened.

"Why does it matter?" Kabuto's eyes flicked to Lucifer's hand, then back to his face. "Are you going to let go, or am I not allowed to get on with my job?"

Lucifer glanced out at the club. "Yes, I can see you are very busy."

"So I should take that as a no?" Kabuto asked.

"You're a smart boy, what do you think?"

"I think it's best for me not to assume," Kabuto replied, all obedient innocence.

Lucifer clucked his tongue in disappointment and dropped Kabuto's hand. "Predictable."

"Which is precisely what I wanted," Kabuto said, still smiling.

Sit around or play pool, whatever you feel like.

For dancing, of course. Music tonight is classical piano.

Up early, because I'll be gone most of the night. Because Transformers > all.

Even devil sex?
