Playground in the Park, Friday Night

Leo sat on the edge of the merry-go-round, pushing it back and forth idly with his feet. He hoped the little Efferton Ghost Kids were happy with this memorial to them. He thought maybe they were, cause it felt so peaceful here. Or maybe that was the brownies.

And it cracked Annette up to watch him. She was short so swinging for her was perfect.

"Whatcha think, Leo?"

"This is great Man! I haven't done this since I was a kid!"

"Aww, we'll have to come out here more often then!" She laughed and swung higher and higher.

Leo didn't swing too high, but was still having a lot of fun. "We should try the Merry-Go-Round next."

"Oh! Let's do it now!" She slowed and jumped out of her swing and ran to the merry-go-round and jumped up on it. "Push, Leo, then hop on!"

"Gothca." Leo extricated himself from the swing with only a little bit of difficulty, then hurried to the merry-go-round, and began to push it along, running faster and faster.

Annette was hanging on tight, her hair whipping about her face as she tried to keep focused on Leo and not the spinning scenery. It was getting hard though to keep up with her grin so her mouth just sort of fell open, hanging there as she got super dizzy.

He did, and had to hold on for dear life as the spinny thing spun. "Wwwwwwwooooaaaaahhhh!"

"Yeaaahhhhh, I knoooooowwwww," her face paled a little but it was so much fun!

Annette let go of the bars and carefully crawled to the center where she laid down on her back, hands on stomach, and stared up at the spinning stars.

"Oooh!"

Leo still held on, but also looked up. "Faaaarrrr oooooout!"

"Come lay down, Leo! It's the best."

Leo carefully made his way to the center and lay down, the top of his head facing the top of her's. He giggled.

Annette giggled too. It was fun getting Leo out and about. Often times she wondered if he was lonely.

And sometimes, he was. Sometimes he missed his wife and son. Sometimes he missed those groovy kids back in Wisconsin.

And then sometimes he got to hang out with the groovy folks here in Fandom.

And she was very very glad for that.

"Hey, Leo?"

"Yeah Man?"

"Want to go get ice cream sometime with me?"

"Oh, I love Ice Cream." he smiled. "That sounds great!"

"We'll plan it then sometime. Maybe next week even." She said as the merry-go-round began to slow.

"That sounds good." he nodded. "Hey what's your favorite flavor?"

"Mint chocolate chip I think. But I also love Birthday cake too. What's yours?" If he said weed she would die.

"I like butter pecan." he said. If they made weed ice cream he'd just about die himself. "Or coffee."

"Oh, butter pecan is good too. And I've never had coffee before. Is it good?"

"Oh yeah it's great." mun likes it with peanut butter cups crumbled on top. mmmmm

"It tastes much better than coffee."

"I don't think I would be inclined to have the coffee flavor since I only drink coffee occassionally."
