Chilly Boulder, Wednesday lunchtime
Lunchtime took Johnny to Chilly Boulder where he was meeting up with Isabel for some ice cream. It sounded pretty good about right now too given the heat outside.
Parking his butt in a chair at a smallish table, he tapped his fingers along the smooth surface and waited for her.
(Chilly Boulder is open, but Johnny is here for Isabel.)

Pushing her sunglasses towards the top of her head, she smiled and made her way to the table. "I hope you weren't waiting long."

Johnny ordered a hot fudge sundae for himself and waited for her to order before they returned to the table he'd chosen to sit and enjoy it.

Taking another spoonful of ice cream she thought about what he said. It was on the tip of her tongue to say something about Jack and radio, but since she was trying hard to not be in a bad mood, she wasn't going to go there. "In the nude? I bet you save a fortune on pajamas."
no subject
"Pajamas? What are those? In the off-chance that I don't sleep in the nude, it's just my boxers." He winked at her because teasing Isabel was the best fun ever. "Those are some known facts about so it's your turn, sweetheart."

"Let's see. I'm a stranded alien princess who's looking to get back to her planet to help restore her brother to his throne." She grinned, pretty sure the next bit of information would make Johnny's head spin. "Technically I have a fiancee. But since we grew up acting more like siblings, there's a squick factor that I'lll never ever get over. So I think we can safely say the wedding's off. I enjoy things that are sweet and spicy, trashy romance novels and the occasional sappy movie."
no subject
"Seriously, I am honored to be sitting with a princess who is stranded. I can play knight in shining armor if you like."
no subject
"I'd gladly give up the whole deal if I could," she admitted. "Because I doubt real life ends with happily ever after." Dropping her spoon in the dish, because yes, there possibly was too much chocolate, Isabel shook her head. "Sorry. Just...fighting a mood today. I'll be honest, I don't need knights, armor gets tarnished." No she wasn't thinking of any one in particular then, really. "But you can never have too many friends."
no subject
"What kind of mood," he asked her gently. "Because if I need to kick someone's ass...?"
no subject
Isabel slid her hand across the table to bump into Johnny's. If only the solution were that simple. "Sadly there's really not an ass for you to kick." Which was the truth. Going back to Antar was inevitable and there was nothing anyone could do about it. And if by chance there was an opportunity to kick a particular someone's ass, Isabel was going to do it herself.

And then, because she was curious, and would be amused by any flailing. "And then maybe you can tell me about radio the other night."
