The Park, Thursday morning
When the party was nice, the party was jumpin' {Hey, Yippie, Yi, Yo}
And everybody havin' a ball {Hah, ho, Yippie Yi Yo}
I tell the fellas "start the name callin'" {Yippie Yi Yo}
And the girls report to the call
The poor dog show down
Who let the dogs out {woof, woof, woof, woof}
The music had stopped bothering Jeff pretty early on. In fact, at this point, he was just pleased to hear the magical crazy music voices had stopped launching into 'The Ballad of Chasey Lain' whenever he moved a limb or breathed. Life was less distracting this way, or at least less blurtful.
On the other side of the equation, however, apparently life wasn't content to just bestow upon him a giant evil spy tank disguised as a dog; he had to walk it, too. In the park. Which still was not an entirely comfortable place for him, all things considered. Too many troubling phone memories.
Long since deprived of his willpower, he simply sighed in resignation when the dog began doing its business on his foot. The voices swelled in cheerful mockery of his misery.

Finding a bench, she sat down and stared forward, wondering if the music was just in her head.

Jeff watched, helplessly. It was a bit like watching a traffic accident happening.

"Oh." she mumbled. "Uh." came another mumble. "Ickomigod."
But the dog was friendly and fluffy and she brought her hands up into the thick fur of its neck and sort of petted as she pushed.
"Help me?"

"Er," he said, "Bad dog! Stop that! Heel! Come! Stay! Uh, I mean, go!" He raked through his brain, "...Sit!"
The dog probably felt it was entirely justified in only following the last of Jeff's commands.

After two minutes of staring at the dog, then Jeff, back and forth, Annette was beginning to lose air. "Throw...a...stick...ball...any freaking thing..."

The dog took to the phone like a sixteen-year-old to a nudie magazine.

Slowly she started to sit up and she looked up at Jeff, "Is that your dog?"
