The Skies Around the Island; Saturday.
Of course, Setsuna would be one to arm herself immediately after hearing the announcement that people were needed to defend against the big creatures; she hadn't expected those big creatures to be dinosaurs, as she discovered, but she did know there were plenty of capable fighters for the land. What she knew they were a little lacking on was defense from the sky. With Yuunagi ready, she swooped the air space. Because she knew there were flying dinosaurs around here somewhere.
Probably.
Hopefully.
[[ heyyyyy, flying dinos! Other....flying capable fighters, tooooo, wheee! ]]

Making whatever face a pteranodon could make, it swooped a little closer, all "Hey!"

With a little dinosaur yell, he flew closer towards her, trying to get a better look at it.
Poor dumb dino.

Of course, now that she'd attempted to hit it, she had a feeling that was going to change.

The slash hadn't hurt, so the pteranodon figured that if he upped the aggression a little by snapping its beak at her, it wouldn't do more than try to hit him again.

Perhaps it was merely a game of showing dominance. In which case, she planned to win.

Which it didn't.
Also now it was trying to bite her.

Well, fine. It tried again to fly closer and bite her. It was trying, dammit.

overpoweredexperienced.Instead of moving back this time, she darted sideway, her blade moving lightening quick for one of its wings. It had seemed mostly not hostile; she'd feel bad about killing the thing. But if she left it merely injured, unable to fly and indisposed....then she wouldn't have guilt on her conscience.

Determined little thing.

"There is no shame in a retreat," she told it as she flapped her wings, dodging the bite, slashing her sword toward the other wings, "especially if you may fly to fight again."
Yes. Touting Buddhist wisdom to a dinosaur. Some habits just couldn't be broken.

And hey! There was the sharp thing again. He managed to manuever away from it before the other wing could be hit, dropping down again below her where she hopefully couldn't stab it anymore. ANd it might have been looking for a good place to nurse the bleeding wound.
Just wasn't worth it to try and make friends.
