Luke's Diner, Saturday

As he absently wiped the counter of the diner, Jude pondered.

Jude needed a girl. Jude needed a girl who met two very specific qualifications. First, that she would never, ever go out with him. And second, that she wouldn't hurt him for asking if it hurt when she fell from heaven.

Unfortunately, the second ruled out most of the first around here.

On the plus side . . . well, there was a plus side. It was a really, really, really big plus side.

Robin checked his finances and decided he could afford to buy lunch today. And he was very happy to see that Jude was here.

"Hi Jude!"

"Hey, little dude," Jude greeted him mellowly. "How's it hangin'?"

"Pretty good." Robin nodded, hopping up onto a stool. "I'm thinking of trying out for the cheerleader squad again."

"Rikku? Oh cool! She's really nice. Oh! Hey are you still able to teach me how to skateboard?"

"Totally, if you want to!" Jude grinned. "I, uh, don't have an extra board any more, I kinda scrapped it to make Rikku one for her birthday."

"Oh, that's okay. I bet I can get one at Turtle's. I got my surfboard there. Which reminds me I need to find Tori and see if she can teach me how to surf."
