Book Haven - Open [7/25]

Chris set out the refreshments for any patrons who stopped by and then settled in with a few books behind the counter.

They were totally not books with advice on dating.

Really.

If anyone happened to really look, they would see Chris enthralled by an enormous biography of Benjamin Franklin.

Eve was bored. Not the kind that led to trouble, the kind that led to her going shopping. And who didn't love a good book or four?

"Hey," she greeted Chris with a smile. "And before you get confused, I'm Eve. Swear to God I still want to make nametags or something."

"Most definitely. Which, considering I'm her cousin and all, is a good thing." She made a face. "It's enough that we both randomly got sent here. It'd suck if we didn't get along, y'know?"

Chris tilted his head. "Oh, yeah. I think you're in my aunt's witchcraft workshop."

He was dying to ask Eve what Savannah might have said about him.

His tone was very clearly derisive when mentioning Johnny. Yes, it was a deliberate attempt to try to coax information out of Eve without flat out asking her.
