Movies in the Park, Wednesday at Dusk (07/25)

Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up. There's a large open area in front of it, where movie-goers can spread out blankets or set up lawn chairs, and of course the tarps and awnings are out to protect everyone from any wet weather. Some people are already gathered, picnicking while the sun sets.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads ~~will be~~ are set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Talk with your friends, meet new people, hang out with your date, play with your dog. The film begins at dusk.

Turtle always reported on the movie in the park, but she'd never actually gone and seen one. She figured it would be a good way to kill some time before heading into the station. She had some popcorn and a Squishy, so she was pretty set.

John throws a few pieces of popcorn at Turtle, just for funsies.

"That better be you trying to feed the ducks," Turtle said, brushing some out of her hair, "and failing because you have crappy aim."

"It so totally is," he lied with a smile. "Gotta get my radar looked at."

"Definitely gerbroken," Turtle agreed with a nod.

"Got any new ones at Turtle & Sundries?" he smirked.

"'Course we have some, you'll just have to come in to look at them." Getting them into the store, after all, was the first step toward getting them drawn in.

"Do you keep 'em on the shelf, or behind the counter lke the Kneuten valves? I should come in. My bike needs summer air."

"They're in the cases in the media section," Turtle told him, with an unspoken Duuuuuuh.

John decided, what the hey.

This week's film is The Lady in Scarlet (http://imdb.com/title/tt0026599/), with Reginald Denny and Patricia Farr.

There was a tartan blanket laid out someplace nice and comfortable, and a small picnic basket with simple snacks and a bottle of wine. And there was an angel and a doctor, stretched out and lazily enjoying the movie. No deep philosophical discussions or talk of worries, just a quiet evening with a movie and good company.

They're taking down the screen until next week, but you can still talk about what you just saw, continue snuggling with your date, set up an impromptu game of after-dark frisbee, etc.
