The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies

Jerry falls in love with a stripper he meets at a carnival. Little does he know that she is the sister of a gypsy fortune teller whose predictions he had scoffed at earlier. The gypsy turns him into a zombie and he goes on a killing spree.

John held the door for Charlie, "I hope this movie is as bad as I think it's going to be."

"I don't know how it could be less bad. I mean, look at the title. Mixed-up Zombies. Did they put them together from different people? Do they need therapy? We have to find out!" Charlie snickered as she walked in the door, and stopped at the concession stand. "Want some popcorn or candy? I was going to get a drink."

"Yes, let's got popcorn and something we can throw at the screen," John replied, looking through the concession offerings. "I'm hoping the zombies were pieced together by a mad scientist and can't agree with their own bodies which way to go."

"Oooo. So they end up doing the Twist while they try to go in different directions, and one hand slaps at the other?" Charlie ordered two popcorns and two drinks, then turned back to John. "So, have you run into our new principal yet?"

"Exactly, they won't be able to agree on anything because too many minds are behind their movements. It's like the Three Stooges of Zombies," John grinned. "I haven't met Umbridge, but from her announcements I'm doubting she's going to be popular," he widened his eyes meaningfully.

Charlie rolled her eyes back at him, and took her popcorn and drink, paying the concessions guy. "I've already talked to a couple people today who used the word 'evil'. And she's still got how many weeks left to go?" She shook her head and took a sip of her drink. "I'm going to avoid her as much as I can. And yes, Stooges! Or maybe Marx Brothers, with the undead!"

John smirked, paying for his foodstuffs, "Evil seems a strong word, but I haven't heard anything specific about her." He ate some popcorn that was threatening to fall off the top of his container.

"The latest 'boys can't live with girls' announcement really has some people annoyed, I guess. But it's not like it'll be forever," Charlie said, heading toward the doors of the theater. She grinned at him. "Who's your roommate?"

"I don't actually have a roommate," he replied. "I've got a single all to my lonely self down at the end of the fifth floor hall. Who're you with?"

"That must be nice. All that privacy." Charlie hoped he didn't take that the wrong way, and quickly answered, "Carmela Rodriguez, in 419. She's really cool, we get along great. So, no being separated for us either." She looked around the theater, which was empty so far except for them. "Front, middle, or back?"

"The privacy is nice. Not that I've had much opportunity to use it. I've met Carmela, she seemed cool," John said, looking at their options. "I must defer to you, as I have no preference."

"She is. And middle," Charlie decided. "Taking control of the whole space. Also, up front makes my eyes itch." And she wasn't willing to push back-row seating on what was only a second/first kind of date. Plus, yay, he hadn't had a chance to take advantage of 'private time'! Another guy who was only dating... well, Turtle. She walked down one row and sat down in one of the middle seats, propping a foot up on the chair in front of her.

John followed Charlie and sat down next to her. "Good choice. I think I can still hit the screen with my popcorn from here. Not that I do that regularly, but you never know when a movie will call for it," John explained.

"This one has Strange People who became Mixed Up Zombies. I think we'll hear the call for it," Charlie giggled, throwing a piece in her mouth. "So, why are you here in Fandom? Did you know it would be like it is before you got here?"

John chuckled, then ate some more popcorn while he considered her question. "I'm here cuz I have some weird gene thing, but I had no idea what Fandom would be like when I got here. Not that I'm complaining. How'd you end up here?"

"I thought it was just because my family was all crowded this summer. My grandpa had to move back in with my aunt. But I think he picked this place out for me because he heard it was 'different,'" Charlie said, taking a slurp of her drink. "You have a weird gene thing too?" She fiddled with her straw. "What does it do?"

John shrugged as even he was not impressed with his alleged 'gene' thing, "I made some stuff glow blue, nothing spectacular. What can you do?"

"Blue?" Charlie said, amused. "Okay, that's new. Um. I can move things with my mind." She checked his reaction before sharing the second half. Rodney had thought it was cool, but you never could be sure how people would take it.

"Cool! I met a witch here, Prue, who can do that, too," John grinned and munched on popcorn.

"Prue?" Charlie brightened, relieved. "I haven't met her yet. Cool, someone else with powers." She floated a kernel of popcorn into her mouth. "And, um. I can set stuff on fire. I usually don't, though, I don't have a lot of control." She grinned. "But it does mean I don't have to worry at cookouts."

John watched her float the popcorn gleefully. Telekinesis was a totally useful and cool power. "So you've got a combination of powers. Is the fire thing like Storm's?"

"Sort of? He can fly, though. And he's got way, way better control than me," Charlie admitted, munching. "I can't turn it off, either. Not yet, anyway. But he and Isabel help me practice." She gave him a tentative smile. "So. Not running away yet?"

"Why would I run? It's not like I think you're going to toss me across the room or set me on fire," John teased.

Charlie shrugged and grinned, even as she blushed a little. "Well, you're not going to give me a reason, right?" She nudged him in the side, and raised her eyebrows, floating a piece of popcorn over to him. "Sooo, yeah. You're safe."

The music for the movie started up, and Charlie blinked as she looked at the screen. "Oh, wow. The sixties were... something else."

"I ought to get myself one of those shirts, they're wicked hot," John chuckled. "Oh, just keep the hair away!" He shuddered and put a hand up to shield his own hair from the sight.

"They're flammable, that's what they are, ewwww," Charlie said with a giggle, settling back to get comfortable. "And I think she killed the ozone layer all by herself with that hair. Oh my god."

Then they started dancing.

Charlie nearly choked on her drink from laughing so hard.
