Underwear and Waffle Festival! - The Park - Wednesday Afternoon

The school board, in their infinite wisdom, had decided that Fandom High needed to branch out with its celebrations. This came into effect before they had the bright idea of putting Dolores Umbridge in charge, Hades just hadn't gotten around to doing anything about it yet. But hey, no time like the convenient present, right? Right?

That was why the park was set up for Wednesday afternoon's community event celebrating two events that happened to fall on August 8 - National Waffle Day and National Underwear Day. It was also Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor's Porch Night (no, really), but Hades hated zucchini, so he decided to leave that part out. That didn't mean everyone else had to though.

Streamers were out, there was an area to design your own unique underwear, an underwear fashion show and there were waffles cooking for all. What a wonderful combination provided no one crashed the party.

Come one, come all!

"Yes. I believe I will prefer waffles." River laughed.

"To underwear?" Ronan chuckled. "But River, I'm afraid you're just not giving underwear a fair chance!"

"Don't taste as nice. Even Berthold would agree." She managed to say that while keeping a straight face.

"And how would you know that? Has there been underwear sampling in your past?"

"By me? No. But I am sure Berthold has sampled a few." River giggled. "He seems to prefer dresses though."

"Really? I'll have to ask him about that sometime, see if there's really a difference in the way types of clothing taste."

"My guess would be that the quantity of fabric is what counts," River replied. "Berthold keeps his reasons to himself. You like waffles?"

"Perhaps, then, one would merely need to supply him with a sufficient quantity of underwear."

Ronan gave River a Look. "Who doesn't like waffles?"

"You are welcome to feed him clothes if you want," River offered. "And I haven't met anyone who doesn't like waffles. I assume that means you'll try some."

"Well, yeah. I mean, waffles." He grinned. "I just thought you might like it if I came over and said hi, first, rather than feeding myself."

It was my pleasure, he told her. "I'm glad you enjoyed it; I imagine it's not every day you dance on air."

"Not every day," River confirmed. "Want to go and chose a waffle?"
