John was out enjoying the sunshine by what looked like trying to beat up very slow people. Perhaps he was practicing for an invasion by old people. Or slow zombies. Or, mayhaps he was practicing his tai chi, with actual chi, not so much actual tai. Which is why his hands are glowing slightly.
