Flag football practice, the Park, Sunday afternoon

Those who responded to the handwavy memo about flag football practice would find Willow waiting for them in the designated spot in the park. She had her whistle, hat, clipboard, and of course her hedgehog Philbert in a snuggle sack. Willow took bonding with her hedgie very seriously.

Not dirty.

Once folks were assembled she got to speaking.

"Hi everybody! Thanks for coming. Yes, even those of you who aren't on the superior Blue team. Today's practice is based on my observations of our scrimmage. As we all know, in theory there is no tackling in flag football which is why it is called flag football and not tackle football - or I guess just football but then we're forcing an assumption of normalcy on one form and that seems very judgemental to me so let's just stick with flag football for now.

"Anyway, it's not supposed to be there but sometimes it happens and I figured we should learn how to plan for it. Now I won't teach you how to tackle because that would be wrong though Blue can feel free to try it out on their own time but I can teach you how to deal with being tackled. Which mainly involves falling. And as someone very wonderful and handsome told me, falling is a skill. Or it can be. Mainly what you want to do is admit that you are powerless over gravity yet at the same time attempt to not hurt yourself.

"So today we're going to do falling. Lots and lots of it. Only there's grass and dirt and wow friction so to help out with that I got these!"

Willow stepped aside and with a flourish of her clipboard displayed various kinds of Slip-n-slides, including a pirate ship which wasn't exactly on the theme of falling but on the other hand Willow thought it was nifty.

"See? That way we learn, but also do not die. I feel both of these things should be a priority. Work with your teams or practice alone if you want. Feel free to go as many times as you like so long as you're not stealing someone else's turn because that would be rude. " Willow pointed to a nearby bench. "I'll be over there with Philbert if you need me. And have fun, YAY!!!!"

[ooc: OCD a-coming is up! All are welcome. In fact, if anybody felt like joining the flag football folks in their practice, Willow would not stop them. Fun for all! And the flag football crew is only in one spot of the park, so plenty of room in other places for folks who'd like to do non-flag football things.]

Anders looked just a tiny little bit pouty about not actually getting to tackle anybody, even as a demonstration.

"I like tackling people," he said with a slightly more pronounced pout.

Practice like this was why Team Blue was superior.

Jim used the race track version. And he went "Vroom vroom" while he was sliding.

Jim was a dork.

Billy had been hearing about this flag American football for some time now and just had to come check it out.

Andrew brought bunny John to practice so he could still be part of the fun.

Faile gave Andrew a small grin in greeting as she sat down near by. She was more focused on looking around for John though.

Andrew grinned back and waved at Faile. Bunny John instantly hopped towards her, his spiky fur blowing a little in the light breeze.

Faile eyed the bunny warily, but the the cuteness won out. Grinning, she reached out to pet him before looking up at Andrew. "You're bunny is cute," she said.
