Our Lady of Fandom, Monday all day

The church was quite open. It might have had something to do with one of the doors having fallen off the hinges. Gabriel muttered to himself, blaming the door for not being sturdy enough to withstand some kicking. Having found an old screwdriver he was trying to reattach the door, not having much success.

[The church is very open indeed]

It had been a long time since Stanley had been to church. Today, he felt like lighting a candle as he approached Our Lady of Fandom.

"I'm not bad," he said with a smile.

Stan gives it a shot. "What happened to the door?"

"You kicked the door?" he said, turning to look at Gabriel. "Did it kick first?" Hey, it was Fandom.

"Any particular reason to kick a door?" he asked, wedging the doohicky back into the thingamajig to almost fix it.

"Most people do, whether they realize it or not," he said.

"It should hold for now," he said. "Might want to get someone to replace it." All he wanted to do was light a candle...

Stan took this as a product test, not as an affront. Mostly. He opened the door, intent on lighting a candle. Still.

"I've not left," he said, walking further in.

"What's wrong with it?" he asked, approaching the front of the church and kneeling.

"You don't like the wind?" Stan asked. "Fresh air coming in?"

[Brainfart. Have they met?]

"Are you the pastor here?" He moved to a nearby pew.

"Are you part of the church?" Stan's questions were becoming a bit sharper.

"In a church," he stated. "In a House of God?"

Stanley bowed his head for a moment, and rose, walking over to light a candle.
