Caritas- Wednesday evening

D'Argo did not forget it was Wednesday, no. Okay, he did, but look, he was new, he was still getting used to the day of the week and that whole 'having a job' thing, what do you want from him?

The girl from last week wasn't around when he got there, which was both a good and a bad thing. Good because it meant he didn't have to deal with her. Bad because it meant he still had to set up himself.

Stuck in my head all god damn day. Now it's stuck in yours.

Well this one was more the chocolate milk or soda type.

Rory was slowly going around doing all kinds of 'last-time' kinds of things, and had realized she needed another umbrella from Caritas.

So she wandered in, settled at the bar while checking her messages on her voicemail and without really looking around to see who was working.

"What'll you have?" asked D'Argo, completely ignoring the phone like a good drink-seller.

D'Argo peered at the small... thing, wondering if he was some alternate version of Rygel that had had a horrible accident.

This was probably the first ever version of this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOnAIi1-bGg) done on a banjo.

Actually, it's "Tubthumping" you went and got stuck in my head. *frowns mightily*

"Hi!" Robin waved. "I don't know if we actually met last time I was here. I'm Robin." He stuck out a flipper.

Annette was done with workshops for the week which meant she could sleep in. Gonna be a late night, yep.

Sitting down at the bar, she noticed the bartender... and stared.

Rory snapped her phone shut and set to putting it away.

"Um, a ma...."

Rory had looked up, you see.

*smiles pretty*

"D'Argo," he said, studying the flipper like he wasn't sure what to do with it. Or like he was wondering whether he would crush it. "You don't have any Hynerian relatives, do you?"

"...I don't know how to make that," he said.

D'Argo was kind of getting used to this reaction again.

So he stared back, unblinking.

Oh. The staring game.

She could do this.

She could do this while trying to figure out if this super tall person was wearing a mask or not.

"Um. Hi."

"Sorry," Rory said, shaking her head as though to clear it. "A mai tai, please? With a pink umbrella?"

"I don't know how to make that either. The umbrella, I can do," he said. As soon as he found them.

"I, don't think so. What's Hynerian?"

"Hi," he said, but he still kind of looked like he might be staring. Because he could, and if he was going to get stared at, he might as well have some fun with it. "What do you want?"

Rory eyed him. "...a Coke? Still with the umbrella, though."

"One thing at a time," he said, ducking behind the bar to see if maybe the umbrellas were under there. Of course, given the fact that he was really really tall, he couldn't exactly disappear behind it. More like hunch behind it.

A moment later, he emerged triumphantly with not one but two umbrellas.

That's okay, because she was still staring too. How could you not? Not like she was being rude though, just a curious sort of awe-like stare. Maybe one that said, 'I think you can scare me but I'm kind of fascinated by that'.

"Surprise me?"
