The Perk - Tuesday Late Morning

After leaving a message, Wilson gathered up his class material and headed down to the Perk to work on his lesson plans for a bit.

There was just something about coffee, comfy chairs and that coffeehouse atmosphere that tended to be good for working on academic projects.

Getting himself a quad latte, he headed for a quiet corner by the windows and spread out all his coursework across a couple of low tables. Kicking back in the comfortable chair with his legal pad, pen and coffee he got to work while he waited.

[ooc: Wilson is here to meet someone but if you wish to poke at him before that or otherwise use the Perk for your own caffiene/academic withdrawal needs, feel free. :)]

Aly got her regular very exciting cup of black coffee and wandered over to where Wilson was inhabiting. "You look all comfy," she said with a smile.

"Just coffee is excellent," she said with a smile of thanks for the chair. Aly sat carefully, mindful of the hot coffee and the stitches. "Are you close to being done with planning?"

Aly took a sip of her coffee before she spoke. "Hmm, part of the point of mine is the different Gifts everyone has. So it's not so much 'carefully molding' as assuming that everyone's different." She shrugged. "Which...well, Fandom."

"Oddball?" she asked, eyebrow raised.

Aly shook her head. "They need to be as independent as possible. It's not like we're teaching children. I'm barely six years older than some of them."

Aly smiled sweetly though her instinct was to bite back at the condescension in his remark.

"I was planning on practical exercises throughout," she said. "But that could possibly be interesting. What type of scenarios were you thinking of?"

"Any fighters you have shouldn't have an issue with that second bit," she said. "It's a part of most training, using random objects as weapons or tools." She nodded thoughtfully. "The object of my class will be protecting those around you. I could see how it could dovetail for one."

Aly smiled. "I doubt many of the students here have issues with that particular problem. It's adults who aren't flexible enough to see sixteen solutions to any one problem. Hmm, codes, having to get or protect a piece of information, that type of thing might be useful."

"That could work," Aly said with a nod.
