The Arms Hotel Lobby, Wednesday

After checking on Gunther to determine that he was still locked up, Hoshi wandered into the hotel's kitchen. She liked cooking, and since Gunther was occupied, she decided that she would make today's specials.

Jack wandered in, staring at the specials board. "What the hell is Chiken Tattooa?" he half-mumbled.

"It's like the Japanese version of fried chicken," explained Hoshi. "Would you like to try some?"

He perked up. "Fried chicken? I sure would!"

"Would you like to try the hiyayakko as well?" asked Hoshi.

"What is it? This hiyakayo?" He peered at the message board like it would tell him what it was.

[Not getting any ping messages for this thread. Woe!]

"It's tofu," said Hoshi. Doesn't everyone know what tofu is?

[No problem. My sister is moving today so I'm back and forth helping her pack the car.]

"What's tofu?" He's from the Hippie Age, but not quite knowledgeable.

"Bean curd," explained Hoshi. "It's really good. You should try some."

"Okay, I'll give it a shot." It was bean curd not bean turd, right?

Billy saw the sign with the specials and was drawn like a young ninja to Japanese cuisine.

Languages other than English are spoken here today.

Bright and early, George Michael was at the hotel lobby counter. His hands rested on the edge and he stood still for two minutes before he rang the ~~totally modded~~ bell.

There was a bell on the front desk? Hoshi hasn't noticed it before. She totally needed to get rid of that on the days she worked because it was too loud for her sensitive ears.

"Can I help you with something?" she asked.

It must have suddenly appeared but can be gone in a heartbeat. George Michael can totally throw it over his shoulder.

"Is Miss Connell here?"

"I hope not," said Hoshi. "It's my first day and I don't need to deal with her and Gunther."

There may have a stream of German curse words coming from behind a locked door down the hall. They stopped when Hoshi yelled something back in Russian.

George Michael stared. He didn't know German or Russian. We're they discussing him? Yelling even? It was strange.

"I have this problem with my TV in my room. Room 410."

"Room 410. I'll leave her a message to have it checked out," said Hoshi, looking around for one of those antique writing devices that they used in this century. "Has anyone warned you about the chef here?"

"The chef? No. No, I don't think so. Why?"

"He's not a very nice person. I advise that you stay away from him," warned Hoshi.

He nodded smartly. "Thank you for the advice. Why is he not a very nice person?"

"He fights with all of us over control of the specials board," said Hoshi. "Actually, he fights with the other two who work here. It's my first day, not counting yesterday when I came in to help with the strike."

The yelling started up again in German. "Excuse me, I need to go shut up Gunther again," Hoshi said politely before running down the hall.

He blinked and turned around and walked away. He didn't want to get in the way of a mad German.

To keep Gunther from getting out.

DO NOT LET HIM ESCAPE!

NO GUNTHER ESCAPING!

Escaping is bad. And I need an excuse to show off my cracktastic new OOC Hoshi icon.
