Movies in the Park, Wednesday at Dusk (09/12)

Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up, with a big grassy area in front to provide seating space. A few people have arrived early to share picnic suppers, and to visit with their friends.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be are up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Talk with your friends, meet new people, hang out with your date, play with your dog. The film begins at dusk.

It was date night! Which meant that Aziraphale arrived at the park with a bit of a spring in his step. Wilson had promised he'd take care of the picnic basket, so the angel spread out an oversized tartan blanket under some trees and stretched out to wait for his dates.

Wilson had grabbed a bit of a nap when he got home from the clinic and was still looking a bit sleepy as he carried the picnic basket across the park towards the blanket.

He'd made gravlax for Aziraphale, the night before, planning to serve it as an appetizer and then for the main course, there was a heated ceramic dish full of shrimp and scallops, sauteed in butter, capers and white wine to go over some fresh herb pasta.

The mortal hoped that the other member of their trio would remember the wine ... or better yet, champagne!

Of course he did. What sort of guest would he be without the champagne?

He came upon the pair, silently taking a seat on the blanket and looking toward the screen. "Lena Horne?" He hmmed thoughtfully at that.

"I think she might play some sort of temptress?" Aziraphale replied, tilting his head back to smile at Lucifer.

"James has made gravlax," he added, sounding a bit like a little boy who was anticipating getting his favorite treat.

Wilson chuckled good naturedly at Aziraphale's excitement over the gravlax and stretched out on the blanket.

"And if we ask nicely, he may even share some of it with us, Lucifer." He said from his prone position on the blanket.

Eyes closed, he let his mind drift over the Lightbringer's name not so much as direct words but more like the emotive thoughts of ...

"Good evening to you as well, James." He nodded at the mortal, then at Aziraphale with an amused dry look. "I think I will somehow learn to live without the treat."

Aziraphale looked disbelievingly at the other angel. "Oh, I'll be happy to share," he promised. Because it wasn't possible Lucifer actually didn't want any gravlax.

This was nice, he thought, stretching out his legs and crossing his ankles. "James love, did you pack glasses, or shall I get some?"

Rose wandered into the Park and paused to stare at the movie screen. Since she had nothing else to do she shrugged and grabbed the nearest patch of grass and sat down to watch.

Rose returned the wave. "How's it hangin', groove pop daddy?"

"Mellowing out myself," she answered, trying more of the '70s slang she remembered when she last visited the era. By far her best memory had to be Woodstock.

Jack waved at the gal watching the movie.

Another movement distracted Rose from the movie and saw the wave. She smiled and acknowledged it with a nod.

"Are you new here?" She asked. "I don't think I've seen you before."

"I'm new," he said. "Name's Jack Burton. And you are?" He stuck his hand out, to shake hers, bring hers to his lips, never know.

After the Movie Ends

They're taking down the screen until next week, but you can still talk about what you just saw, continue snuggling with your date, set up an impromptu game of after-dark frisbee, etc.
