Modern Feminism: From Susan B Anthony to Bea Arthur - Second Period - 09/19
There was a man in the classroom today.
He certainly spoke like Deadpool; even moved like him too! The pirate-y hook on his hand should have been a dead give away that it actually was Deadpool, really.
"Good morning pirates and pirate wenches-- which I mean in the least insulting way as there is no good term for female pirates that I know of!" He bounced just a little. "Today is International Talk Like a Pirate day and in honor of that day, we will be deviating from the lesson plan to learn about female pirates." As an afterthought he added, "Arrrr!"
"Two of the most notable are Anne Bonney and Mary Read. Who, oddly enough, knew each other," Deadpool told them with a small grin. "Of all the gin joints of all the world, they happened upon each other. Only without the Cinemax after dark soft core kinda entertainment following said meeting." Which was a real shame. Would have made history so much more interesting. "Anne Bonney left her husband to go be a pirate with her lover, John 'Calico Jack' Rackham. Which just makes me think of whiskers on kittens when I hear that name. And brown paper packages tied up with string."
Deadpool sighed fondly. "Oh, Julie Andrews, is there anything you don't make better?"
"Anyway! Anne, with her new husband, went on to become a moderately successful pirate, only famous because she lacked the Y chromosome. Sad but true. Then a new sailor joined the crew, a woman disguised as a man. This would be Mary Read, who had been raised mostly as a boy from childhood so the whole cross-dressing thing was normal for her." Deadpool paused there to give Judeif he's there a suspicious look. "Becoming friends with this new pirate and promising to keep her secret, Anne soon found herself under suspicion of adultery by her new husband. Which, granted would be all kinds of sexy, was so very wrong, so he was let in on the secret."
"This Three's Company of piracy didn't last long though, as they were soon captured by the British Navy and set to hang for there crimes," Deadpool continued. "Anne and Mary mysteriously got pregnant before they could be sentenced and were allowed to wait for the children to be born before the hanging could happen. Such an angry judge. Anyway! Mary died in prison of a fever and Anne disappeared from record. Some say she's still haunting the Caribbean, looking for more female piiiiiarates!"
He waved dismissively. "No they don't, I just think that would be cool and very Scooby Doo if it was true. Enjoy the day of piracy!"

Yes, that would be Meg oogling during the lecture.

Also, he was really handsome. Not that this was at all important to Beauty. Nope, not a bit.
Re: Lecture
He was really, really trying not to think about how hot Deadpool was now. It was made slightly easier by that whole three-days-duct-taped-to-a-chair thing.

And maybe a little time spent trying to figure out how she'd look with a peg leg and an eyepatch.
Eyepatches!
He won't even glue one to them!

She definitely had no desire, therefore, to wear an eyepatch.
