The sign on the front door read Open, the newly-installed showcases were clean and locked, and the FOR EMPLOYMENT INQUIRE WITHIN sign was joined by a MEDITATION CLASSES - ASK AT THE DESK note.

Cable was at the desk, hovering above a large book as the radio broadcasted world news in the background. With his brow scrunched up mildly and his expression otherwise thoughtful, he looked like he might be plotting something.

Might be a twenty-year plan for a benevolent quest to achieve full-scale multiversal domination in the name of the greater good.

Might be lunch.
