Book Haven: Friday 10-5PM [9-28-07]

Millie opened the store and set out treats for the customers.  She'd been up late the night before, so she settled down in a comfy chair with a book to wait for anyone who might come in.

He smiled warmly. "Good morning. I...came in for a new shipment. I'm all read out."

"Oh goodness," Millie said. "We can't have that! Please, look around and find more!"

"Will do," he said with a smile. "I'm sure I'll find something that catches my eye."

He wandered around and found himself in the completely modded Romance section. Well, that certainly won't do for his mood. He moved to the next section. Classical Literature. Juxtaposition of the wisdom and age of the ancients in shiny new paperbacks. His subconscious was having fits at this.

He closed his eyes and walked a few steps randomly, putting a hand out. Self help. 'Dating for Dummies.' Am I trying to tell myself something? he thought. With a sigh, he collected a handful of noir detective novels and mysteries and proceeded to the check out.

He indicated the books. "Just these for today, I think." Books. Books were safe.
