The Arms Hotel Lobby, Thursday [10/4]

Mary was using her shift today to make sure that the rooms were ready for all alumni who had made reservations this weekend. She really didn't pay too much attention when Gunther came out of the kitchen and asked if she would try out the new milkshakes he was making. Mary was absentmindedly sipping the milkshake when she started having trouble holding onto her pen. Why? Because her hands were turning into little kitten paws.

"Not again," moaned Gunther as Mary the kitten scampered off her chair and went to play in the open expanse of the lobby. But just as quickly as she changed into a kitten, Mary transformed back into her normal shape. With all the dignity she could muster, Mary got up off the floor, tugged at her dress until it was in place, and calmly said to Gunther, "This town is completely bizarre."

Stan walked in to the Arms, wondering what today's special would be.

He facepalmed at the kitten.

"Meow?" said the kitten.

"Meow," he said back. "Please tell me you're Mary and not a hallucination or someone's idea of a funny pet gift?"

That's when Gunther came out of the kitchen, only to stop and stare in horror at the sight of the kitten. "Mary? Oh no, not again! Mister Deline is going to kill me."

"So it's not just me," Stan murmured. Which was good. Really.

"Mary? Would you like some milk?"

The kitten meowed, but just as quickly, the kitten vanished and Mary was sitting on the front desk where the kitten had been.

Stan blinked. A lot. "Mary? You okay?"

"I'm fine. This is just ridiculous," said Mary, jumping down from the front desk and straightening her dress.

Stan looks away as she's straightening herself out. "How long has this been going on?"

"All morning. I keep changing back and forth," said Mary. "What brings you to see me today? I swear, I can totally explain what they said on the radio about me."

He hadn't heard. "You have a good explanation?" he asked.

"I totally didn't plan on it. It just happened!" said Mary.

"I see," he said. He didn't. "So it was a spur of the moment thing?" ...what was she talking about?

"Exactly! I just felt like I should be doing something for myself that made me happy, so I went for it," said Mary. "Now, I know it's not going to be anything serious, and I'm fine with that. Because at the end of the day, I'm still in love with Danny McCoy and I probably always will love him, even if he's with someone else now."

She was babbling. It wasn't a good sign.

[And I'll be afk for a bit. It's my turn to pick up lunch.]

"So you're sure it was a good decision?" he asked, still wondering what was going on, because he = clueless. He makes a note to listen to the radio. A lot.

[bring me lunch, tooooo! *lipwibble*]
