The Devil's Nest - Thursday 10/11

Neil was definitely on time this week and he was carrying a stack of camping magazines with him.

No reason.

Smiling to Musubi, he set the magazines behind the bar and then set about cleaning the place up. Not that it ever seemed to need it but Neil liked keeping it all neat and sparkly looking.

Where you might catch Neil cleaning ... or just find a lurky shadow to enjoy.

There certainly was someone lurking in the lounge this evening. Well, he wouldn't claim to be lurking, Lucifer would say he's simply enjoying the newspaper with a glass of wine.

Chris entered the club and looked around, giving Neil a cursory wave as he spotted the gentleman who had been in his class the other day.

"Hey," he said, walking over and sitting across from Lucifer. "You told me to stop by and talk to you about picking up some bartending here."

Lucifer glanced up from the paper after being addressed. "Mr. Halliwell, good evening to you as well."

"You know, I never did catch your name," Chris said.

"You mean the name of the club didn't make it obvious enough?" Why yes, Lucifer was teasing him. Poor kid.

Chris gave him a confused look. Yeah, he was really kind of slow sometimes.

Suddenly, the whole 'Adversary' thing and the name of the club and the weird feeling he'd gotten when he was trying to bargain finally clicked and he looked vaguely horrified. "You mean... you're really... um..."

"Yes." Lucifer smirked. "Him. Retired now, of course."

"So... not evil?"

Lucifer cocked his head to the side. "Are you?"

Chris blinked. "No... I'm half witch, half white lighter."

"And I am an angel," Lucifer replied mildly, letting Chris take that however he pleased.

Okay, there was that. "But... aren't you a fallen angel?"

"But an angel nonetheless." Lucifer smirked. "Evil and good is part of all creations. Did He you think he created us all so differently?"

Chris shrugged. "I don't know that much about angels," he admitted.

"They are remarkably similar to humanity. The same sort of general stupidity, it seems, is universal."

That made Chris smirk a little. "So, anyway... about that job."

Lucifer nodded. "Straight to the point, very good Mr. Halliwell. I am in need of a bartender for Saturday nights."

"I should be able to swing that with no problem," Chris said.

"I love forward to it then." Lucifer waved over toward the bar and the elegantly dressed Japanese woman. "Musubi will assist you if you have any problems."

Chris nodded, studying the woman. There was something about her that he couldn't quite put his finger on.

"Great, I'll be in on Saturday then."

Care to guess which one won out as the evening wore on?

That was, of course, implying the devil wished to dance.

Lucifer simply raised an eyebrow at Wilson's arrival in the club. "James."

Nothing ventured nothing gained or lost.

"Good evening, Lucifer." He said, stretching himself bonelessly into the chair and tilting his head up to study the ceiling.

Giving him an amused look, Lucifer sat back in his chair, waving his hand for a glass of wine to appear. "Here to pilfer more of my clothing?" he teased dryly.

Wilson's lips twitched and he peeked at Lucifer through his lashes.

"I actually bought myself a new suit and some very nice ties today. Well, Isabel helped me with the ties, I don't think the Pixie Dust carries my usual ~~gawdawful~~ style."

Hands folded on his stomach, the mortal took a deep breath and settled deeper into the chair.

"Just got tired of listening to myself think."

Lucifer chuckled quietly, gesturing toward his paper. "I can't say I'm much more entertaining, James."

"Don't need to be entertaining," Wilson said quietly, eyes closed once more. "Just don't send me away."

"Have I done so yet?"

"Be stupid to take you for granted."

Lucifer nodded in agreement. "That it would be." He looked away, sipping his wine. "Did you wish to stay the evening while he is away?"

Leaning his head to the side, Wilson watched Lucifer with one eye open.

"Yes," he said with soft simplicity. "If it wouldn't be an imposition?"

Lucifer glanced back briefly. "No more than missing any more of my clothing."

"It might even protect your clothes from becoming woobie status," Wilson pointed out.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow. "Woobie?"

Wilson's lips gave a little twitch.

"Did I say that outloud?"

He might have been going for the distraction tactic.

"Would it have made a difference?" Lucifer replied, smirking.

....

"Good point," Wilson acknowledged. "Woobie, err something that is comforting."

"Good to know," Lucifer said, a dry humor coloring his tone.

The Prince of the Eastern Sky as comforting ... well, no one ever said Wilson's brain was logical.

Sliding down further in the chair, looking for all the world as if every last bone in his body had turned to jello, Wilson folded his hands on his stomach and relaxed.

With that, Lucifer went back to reading his paper. Two interruptions in one night, quite unusual.

Some very nice jazz playing tonight but you can always change it for your dancing needs.

I'm pretty much afk this evening so don't tear the place up! ;)
