Rikku was at work. See? Working. All kinds of good. Just because she wasn't her usual bouncy self didn't mean she couldn't work. Totally.

Somehow fiddling with weapons wasn't helping today. Maybe she'd wander into that meditation space and see if it cleared her head at all. Anything at this point, right?

The Wellspring Arms was open.

Rikku sat down cross-legged in the middle of the floor and tried to take deep breaths and wondered what she was supposed to be thinking about and realized she probably wasn't very good at this meditation stuff and how were you supposed to stop your mind from going in circles, anyway? This meditation deal was harder than it looked.

Deadpool had come a knockin' for Nate to help him plan revenge on Aly.

Okay, that was a lie. Nate would try to talk him out of it and blah blah A'skani blah blah forgiveness...

but when he noticed the lil' Minion, he had to go and see what was up. So he plopped down, sitting Indian style across from her. "It works better if you say stuff like 'Ommmm'. See? Ommmmmm."

Rikku cracked a smile at that. "Okay, good. Not just me." The smile flickered and went out again. "So, uh. How are you and all that? 'Cause we haven't talked in a while and ... I'm, you know. Probably a bad minion 'cause I don't check in enough and you're not going anywhere, are you?"

Deadpool flopped back on the floor, wriggling to get comfy and patting the spot next to him. "All is well in the land of Deadpool." A beat. "And my lil' minion? How is Rikku Land?"

"Oh, it's, uh ..." Rikku shrugged. "Y-you know. It's. I'm."

She was fine. Totally. Really. Honest. And not going to blurt out --

"I saw Hamlet. This weekend. Still dead. And h-he's gone again."

Deep breath. No crying. No looking like an idiot in front of the mentor. No --

"Jude's leaving."

Dammit. So much for that.

Oh, yeah. Right. Like Deadpool could not give her an awkward hug now.

He... really had nothing to say that would help. People leaving sucked, but it happened no matter how hard you tried to make them stay.

When did she turn into a freaking faucet? People died, people left, it was what happened, and she used to be able to get through it without crying like an idiot all over people and dammit, Rikku, pull yourself together already.

"I-I'm okay," she lied, squeezing him back. "H-hamlet, you know, this is good, and J-jude, it's, it's his mom, he has to, it's not. You know. Us. So it's. And. And you're ... you're not gonna go anywhere, right?"

Deadpool sighed, hugging the minion and slowly, very slowly patted her on the head. He was trying, really he was. "Not going anywhere, kiddo. You'll have to set me on fire or something for that to happen."

Cable returned to his store a little while after Wade had left - and found, to his unperceivable befuddlement, that Rikku was situated in the meditation room.

He hovered in the doorway. "It's a matter of focus," he said, his tone mild.

"What are you supposed to focus on?" she asked. "'Cause I can't stop thinking. I mean. About ... all the stuff that's making me upset in the first place. And I don't think sitting here and crying is what you're supposed to do. Or is it?"

"No." Cable walked down into the room, settling down on the floor himself. "I'll take you through the basics, if you'd like," he said. "It helps to stay centered."

Rikku bit her lip. "Would it ... help? I just kinda ..." She frowned. "It's kinda been a crappy week. I didn't feel like being out there, so I came in here, but I don't know that this'll help. Maybe it will. It feels silly. I mean, it's not gonna ... change what's wrong, but I just couldn't sit there and ... I dunno. I'm rambling again."

Rikku gave him a weak smile. "Really? Okay, then. It ... it can't hurt, right?"

She nodded and sat up a little straighter. "I'll warn you, I'm probably gonna suck at this."

"Don't worry," Cable said, dismissively. He settled into position, his legs crossed. "Just listen to me. Relax. Close your eyes. Don't hold your breath. Breathing is very important."
