Trooper Station: All day

His weekly load of paperwork finished, Dale was at his desk reviewing warrants, past case histories and various other tidbits from the past case files from the previous police officers of Fandom.

Any interruption to this routine would be greatly appreciated.

His weekly load of paperwork very much not finished, Roy took a break anyway and took a detour round Cooper's office with two mugs of coffee.

"Morning, agent Cooper."

"Wondering why your desk is so much cleaner than mine," he replied, moving further into the office to offer Dale the cup.

Roy's eye had been about to glaze over when Dale mentioned the weekend. "Good thinking, Cooper. Do let me know if anything comes out of that?" Roy said, sounding lazy. Not that he wouldn't be doing the exact same thing.

"Trust me," Roy said with a slight smirk as he sipped from his coffee too. "People have tried, but somehow suggestions seem to not want to work for me. I'll just suffer in silence." He had to complain about something after all. "I at least hope that you've been using your saved time to enjoy yourself."

Roy paused. He liked reading, but there were limits. "Do you know any women you'll impress with that?"

"Going out is fun," Roy said smoothly, with a shrug. And really, he shouldn't be one to talk right now, but apparently he couldn't shut up.

Well no one could have quite his charisma really. "Doesn't have to stay that way. You make your own luck," Roy pointed out. Perhaps he could help Dale, the last time things had rather worked out for Havoc and Roy had received his message from Major Armstrong thanks to it. Sometimes his memory was rather selective as he was forgetting that Havoc had been crushed for ages.

Roy's expression turned more serious almost instantly. "I apologise," he said softly.

And there would be equivalence still, but Roy wasn't sure how much Dale would want to hear about that, so he opted for avoiding the question. "Which friend exactly are you referring to?" Roy asked, knowing quite well who Dale meant.

"Mmmmmm," Roy casually leaned his shoulder against the door frame. "All fine women. You have to love an island that's so generous."

Roy snorted. "If it is, then it's getting things wrong by making them unavailable."

"Nah," Roy said lightly, sipping from his cup. "Problems are when you're serving a dictator who has no qualms using human lives for his own goals."

"Women are supposed to cure the headache, not give you one," Roy said with a smirk, quite possibly only saying this because there wasn't one around. Didn't mean he didn't mean it.

Roy's grin grew wider. "That's half of the fun, agent Cooper. You're going to make me think about holding another ball."
