Mary was still very ticked off that one of her favorite dresses had been stolen even though she had been wearing it at the time. She also had a nasty bump on the back of her head and for a short while this morning, she was seeing double. That definitely wasn't good. On top of that, she was feeling guilty that she hadn't checked on George Michael when she regained consciousness last night.

At least she got some good news in the form of a voice mail from Ed Deline, who told her that he was coming to Fandom this weekend. There was no mention if Jillian would be there as well, but Mary hoped that the Delines had patched up their marital problems and gotten back together. Only the best would do for Mary's former boss and her best friend's parents. Mary pulled up the reservations from the computer to check if the presidential suite was available.

It wasn't. In fact, there were four separate reservations for the same presidential suite and all for this weekend. Mary blinked a couple of times, hoping that she was just seeing double again, but when the screen didn't change, she realized the was screwed.

This is an OOC request, although those of you who gave me an IC response with how much they wanted the presidential suite really made my day. The RNG will select one lucky guest for the presidential suite late tonight and Mary may randomly comp people signed up for regular rooms because she likes to do that.]

Johnny headed straight for the counter. "I need a room for tonight, please."

Mary, who had been absorbed in her dilemma of how to comp the people who wouldn't be getting the presidential suite, absentmindedly reached for the drawer with the room keys. "Do you need a single or a double?"

"A double, Mary," Johnny answered with a wry grin.

"A double," repeated Mary, looking for a key. That's when it dawned on her.

"So you and Savannah need a room for tonight?" she asked, looking suspiciously at Johnny.

Uh. "Yeah, is that going to be a problem?"

"No, no problem," said Mary. "Actually, we've got a lot of vacancies at the moment, so I'll upgrade you guys to a suite for the price of the double."

She quickly scanned the list of available suites that were not on her floor. "Something with a view of Serenity Cove, perhaps? I mean, not that you are really going to care about the view tonight, but Savannah might like that."

"Yeah, that sounds nice, Mary, thanks," Johnny said, blushing slightly. "Savannah will like that."

"And I have just a couple of ground rules for you guys," said Mary. "One, I need you guys out by 11 AM because all the parents are checking in tomorrow. Two, no alcohol tonight. Trust me on that one. Danny and I were really nervous the first time we, uh, decided to take things to the next level so I raided my dad's liquor cabinet for some peppermint schnapps. Danny got completely wasted, threw up on my favorite white cowboy boots, and passed out before anything actually happened."

He grinned. "No alcohol. Promise. And we will be out by eleven. My sister is coming and she doesn't need to catch me here."

"Yeah, that wouldn't be good," agreed Mary, taking out the key to room 502 and putting it on the counter. "Here you go, and I just need you to sign the register," she said, waving at the antique book at the end of the front desk. "I guess I lucked out. No brothers or sisters so I didn't have anyone watching out for me, just Danny."

Johnny signed his name and handed over the right amount to cover the charges. "Is he coming?"

"I don't think so, but he can't contact me directly right now. Someone else sent me a warning that Danny is being watched by the Las Vegas police because... well, it's a long story, but I'm probably safer keeping my distance from him right now," said Mary, looking wistful.

"Oh! But my old boss Ed Deline is coming in this weekend, so that will be nice. Ed and his wife were the ones who took care of me after my father's murder."

"Yeah," Johnny said derisively. "Keep him away from you." Because that did not sound good and Johnny really didn't want to have to hurt someone.

"Well, that's good then. You seem excited about getting to see him."

Mary needed to remember to call Johnny for back-up ~~when~~ if a police detective from Metro showed up to arrest her.

"Ed is the father I never had," said Mary, smiling. "It will be nice to see him again."

Mary definitely needed to rememeber to do that.

"Good, I'm glad. It's nice to see you happy about that."

"Well, I can't argue with being happy," said Mary.

"No," he winked at her. "You can't. Catch you later, Mary."

It feels like today's post is excessively wordy and I'm still forgetting something.

Oh, now I remember! I'm going to be AFK until about 7 PM or so, depending on whether or not I meet someone after work. SP is love!
