Caritas, Wednesday Night

Faith wasn't entirely sure she was still gonna have a job, tonight, but maybe if she showed up and acted like she was supposed to be there, the new boss or whoever would go with it. If she was even in town yet.

She opted to not dress like a complete skank, in case this Jolee chick was more the formal type. Nice button-down shirt, but hey, you don't expect a bartender to look like a stockbroker, and leather pants were part of the interview. Besides, she looked hot in them.

Faith settled in behind the bar for her shift.

Jack? Needed a drink. He may need several, for if he gets enough liquid courage, he may decide to sing.

Faith nodded to the guy at the bar. "What can I get you?"

"Beer, please," he said. Wow. She looked cute.

Jolee walked into Caritas through the front door (Even though he came down from the apartment above the bar. He wanted to keep his employees on their toes so he didn't want to give things away by coming down the normal way. Also, Jedi can make that jump down to the street.) and took a seat at the bar. "Water with a lemon wedge, thank you," he ordered.

"Beer it is," she said, filling a mug from the tap and sliding it over to him. "Your name isn't Jolee or some shit like that, is it?"

"No, it's Jack. Jack Burton," he said, sticking his hand out, to shake or grab the beer or whatever. He really should stop offering things to people, like parts of his body.

"You bet," Faith said, nodding to the guy and scooping ice into the glass. Some water, a lemon wedge, and voila. She even set it down on a napkin. "How you doin' tonight?"

Jack glanced at the man at the bar. Didn't look familiar.

Then again, he's not a regular, so he just shrugged it off.

She shook his hand. "Faith. You looked kinda young to own this place anyway."

On his way to his apartment, Fraser made a stop into Caritas for a drink and to see if the bar's new owner had arrived yet. Or if GOB had returned, one or the other.

He nodded at the unfamiliar woman behind the bar and smiled. "Good evening."

"Not bad now that I have water," Jolee said. "How about you? Enjoying work this evening?"

"Good evening, sir," Fraser said, noticing another unfamiliar face. "Have you just arrived in town?"

"Pretty good," she said, nodding. "Starting to like tending bar. Only my second week, so I'm kinda hoping I don't get fired or whatever."

"Nah, I'm not looking for a bar to own. Too stuck in one place," he said with a smile. "Give me my wits, the open road, and something to haul."

"Evening," Faith said, grinning at the new guy. "What can I get for you?"

"You a trucker?" Faith asked. "I don't usually stay put, either. Get restless. Besides, the cops catch up sooner or later."

"Water, please," he said, nodding. "And thank you. I'm guessing you're new to the town."

"Any reason why you might get fired?" Jolee asked curiously.

Jolee recognized Jack from the other night when he was tending bar. "Whiskey sour," he remembered.

"New owner," she said with a shrug. "Dunno if they usually switch out the old crew when that happens. Haven't met her yet."

"Almost. I've been here a few days now," Jolee said. He took a look at Fraser. "You see, that's what I was talking about with the hat thing. It adds an extra bit of dignity."

He was talking about a conversation that started with Cable the other day. He didn't mind it if conversations continued with different people even if they had no clue what he was talking about.
