First a plague.

Now, time travel.

It was like he'd never died and gotten stuck elsewhere left. With that in mind, Cable flipped the Open sign on the store, rifled through some gun cases, spent some time staring at the map in the back of the store, then settled down.

As always, he had work to do. Neither death nor weirdness would ever stop him.

As per usual.

After talking to Annette, Ino just had to show up here. It was her old work place after all. And even twenty years into the future Cable was one of the people she respected.

"Good morning, Cable-san." She beamed at him.

He glanced up from his work. "Ino," Cable replied, with a nod. "Now how do you feel about time travel?"

He may have smirked. Just a tad.

One shoulder lifted in a half-shrug, "Went pretty smoothly, I admit. Though finding my old homework was a bit of a shock. It's Fandom though, I should've expected something like this to happen."

"If you think this is strange, you should see my universe." One could only have so many alternative timeline siblings without gaining a whole new perspective on 'strange'.

He shifted some papers on his desk, eyeing her thoughtfully.

She wrinkled her nose. "Fandom’s strange enough for me, thanks." Not that it had turned out badly for her or anything, but yeah. Weird.

"Yes?" Ino met his gaze steadily, "Something you wanted ask?"

"I remember it usually being the other way around," Cable offered, showing no particular reaction one way or the other.

Of course, remembering for him wasn't as much of a problem, considering that it had barely been a week since the last time she'd come in with a million questions, in his perception.

But time travel was funny that way.

Exploring the town, Teddy had managed to find his way to Cable's shop.

How funny.

"Not a thing has changed." A beat. "Time travel, yes?"

That barely even got a glance-up. "Yes," Cable noted. And ticked another box.

Ticky boxes. The bane of his existence.

Which didn't bother Teddy in the slightest. Ignoring him was almost welcome as it so rarely happened back home.

Walking through the shop and looking over the space, Teddy couldn't help but chuckle just a little at it all. "I remember you being a lot taller," He remarked idly.

"I changed my diet," Cable returned mildly (and in full deadpan), plotting out some things in his mind as he jotted down some notes.

Sokka practically danced into the store. "Cable! My MAN!" he said, with a wide grin. "Can you hook me up with some of the ol' cryptic wisdom, some thinly veiled insults, and a loaner for the shooting range?"

"I can do you one for three," he offered.

Or two, if he pushed the shooting range thing.

His facial expression didn't swing one way or the other. He tapped his pen against the desk.

"Same old Cable," Sokka chuckled, throwing a light, friendly punch at Cable's shoulder. "Now, how about that loaner?"

Her old job. Still here, which was more fodder for the idea that she was the one experiencing Fandom weirdness, not the rest who were still sixteen.

Either way, she had to stop in. Especially if she might catch her old boss in here, too.

"Cable," she grinned. "Man, I forgot how many weapons were in here."

"Rikku," Cable returned. Still with the not surprised at all. "You look like you're doing well."

"I am," she grinned. "So do you, and you don't look a day over ... you know? I don't think I ever knew how old you were. But I'm gonna guess you're still here, and not back for the reunion."

"I'm glad." The earnesty passed, and he smirked a little. "Time travel," Cable said, "You get used to it."

"I should start," she laughed. "Fandom seems good at it. We were all children, and then we all had children, and it seems like Fandom gets bored if it stays in one timeline for too long."

Rikku gave him a curious glance. "Are you really unfazed, then? Seeing your students wandering around complaining about middle age and their children?"
