Caritas - Tuesday Evening [Open]

Tino was displeased when he saw that the less-hot version of Dick was working today. Dick just attributed Tino's mean looks to some sort of bartender PMS. Was bartender PMS contagious? He hoped not.

Dick opened up a new bag of pretzels and started eating them. He had no memory of the last few days. Only someone who has done drugs numerous times would not be worried about that. Dick wasn't worried about it.

[...there was a snarky bartender today who told me she had bartender PMS. I still don't know what it means. Anyways, I'm around!]

Was there Thanksgiving music? If there was the zombies were playing it.

Dick probably wouldn't be in such a good mood if he knew what his future was going to be like. Well, excluding the fact that he grows up to be even more of a hotass.

Lounge it up!

For someone who isn't legally allowed to drink yet I sure do spend an awful lot of time in bars.

All the Shirley Temples I drank made my tongue turn bright red.

Annette figured she ought to get this overwith. What she needed to tell Dick. Not that she was feeling bad over it anymore, just still a little shell-shocked.

"Hey," she said as she took a seat.

"Hey, baby." Dick said. He tossed a pretzel up in the air and caught it in his mouth. "God, I am amazing."

She smirked. "Yeah, whatever. Listen, I got some news I need to be telling you before you hear it on the radio."

"Oh man..." That was possibly the worst sentence ever. "Go ahead. Tell me."

It was. And did it seem like she said it often? Naaah. Not really.

"Okay, this weekend was tricky, right? You older, me older, well... the older version of me was single and I... this morning... it was so weird and so... what the fuck, right? And, well, you just needed to hear it from me first and that I am totally so sorry."

"I think you skipped over an important part because I have no idea what was so bad about that." Dick said. Well, that explained what he was doing this weekend.

She frowned. "I did? Ooops. Um, okay so IwokeupnakedinbedwithA.J.thismorning."

Yeah, that was Dick almost choking on a pretzel. Tino ran over and started to slap Dick's back. Normally he wouldn't help out but Tino saw what a hotass Dick's going to be and it would be shame for the world to be deprived of that.

Choking probably wasn't a very good sign.

"Can I have a Shirley Temple please? You can add a little vodka in it this time." She had no idea what that would taste like but hell if it mattered.

"Are you crazy?!" he asked after he caught his breath. He wasn't mad, not really. He felt like he should be mad but a little voice in the back of his head told him that he had no right to be angry. Dick was just weirded out that Annette asked for a Shirley Temple while he was choking.

"Do I have to answer that right now?" Annette twisted her lips and folded her hands together atop the counter. "You know what? Hold the Shirley Temple. The vodka will do."

Barbossa had gone days without a proper drink.

Or maybe hours.

"RUM!" he cried anyway.

Fifty years had passed for him. He looked just as grubby and weathered as always.

"No vodka until you answer a few questions." he said. "This was totally an accident, right? You were properly flaily and weirded out this morning, right?"

"Boss!" Dick said happily. He grabbed a bottle of rum and sat it in front of Barbossa. "You're back!"

"Omigod I thought I was thirty-eight and single and I totally freaked out this morning when I realized it wasn't you I was touching!"

Dick didn't realize what was so wrong with being thirty-eight and single but whatever. The point was she freaked out and that was the important thing.

He took out a bottle of vodka and sat it in front of her.

"Unless this be a slightly more interestin' version o' hell--and I be seein' a few o' em--aye, I be back."

He took a swig from the bottle. "Ah, civilization. I be missin' havin' rum without things floatin' in it."

Dick made a face. "Ew. Dude, that's gross."

"Thanks," she took a very unlady-like swig. "So," she snickered. "Two kids, married -- it's the whole nice yards for you buddy, and yeah, right after high school. Got to make you proud, eh?" She took another swig, and another. This morning freaked her out yeah, but now she was just thinking about it.

Dick just gave her a confused look. Maybe she really had gone crazy. He wouldn't put it past her.

"Oh god, like you don't remember sitting here talking to me the other night," she shook her head and drank more. "Please."
