The Park, Tuesday late afternoon

Peter had come out here to work on his editorial for tomorrow's paper. He had no clue what he was going to write about so he looked for inspiration in the cool air.

He didn't expect for his spider-sense to go off while he was writing, though. It was a light buzzing, nothing too dangerous, but still surprising since it came out of nowhere. He decided to approach the pond cautiously, wondering what was going to be there. A monster? Evil duck? Scuba zombie? The joy would be in the discovery.

He stopped a few inches from the water and bent over. And then, faster than even he could dodge, a fish leaped out of the water and bit his left arm. He pulled the fish off quickly but that didn't stop the weird feeling he had. It was like his arm was growing, changing. He stared in horror as he realized that his arm had become a giant fish.

He decided then and there that he wasn't going to write about his fisharm.

[OOC: Peter's arm is now a giant fish. He can grip things with the fish's mouth and there may be other surprises.

Post is open if anyone wants to WTF at the fisharm.]

"Get bit by a radioactive fish?"

Billy was enjoying the weather, and had to stop, and just take in the wonder that he'd found.

"Uh....huh."

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Son of a-!" Billy dove out of the way, and took a defensive position. "What the hell?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's some weird fish." He eyed the fish arm and the fired fish warily. "That's gotta feel really strange."

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy snickered. "Should we put a 'Beware of Fish' sign up?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"Huh, good point. Seems like it's not actively trying to hit people."

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Could you, dunno, muzzle it somehow?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-11-27 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Billy scratched his head. "Do you need to go to the clinic? Or do you think it'll go away on it's own?"

[identity profile] l1ttle-billy.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
He took another look at the arm. "I keep thinking nothing here can surprise me anymore."

Right about now, Renee couldn't help but wonder what the hell was wrong with this town.

"You have a fish for an arm," She said, even though that was abundantly clear to anyone.

Seriously what the hell was wrong with this place?

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Renee ducked, moving quickly to the side as she unconsciously reached for her piece. "Is this a normal occurrence?"

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Either." Slowly letting go of the gun still in her holster, Renee straightened back up. "But mostly in general, I suppose."

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, pretty new," Renee said slowly, walking forward to get a better look at the arm.

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Renee raised an eyebrow at him. "Plant woman, yeah. Psychopaths who need diamonds to live in subzero conditions, sure. Fish arms? Not really," She replied dry as the Sahara.

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
"If I end up with a cow arm, I'm blaming you, kid."

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Renee smirked. "I'll try to remember that. Detective Montoya," She said, offering a hand to his non-fish arm.

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Good," She replied, eying him for a moment. "I'd hate to try and cuff that arm."

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Fishing line?" That earned him an amused little snort. "Put a little too much thought into this, did you?"

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"But can you make him drink?" Renee was simply forced to ask.

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Renee had simply assumed he was a dork like her and was watching the Dancing With the Stars finale.

"Clever, kid." She nodded at the arm. "Do I need to take you to the clinic for that?"

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
She wasn't going to ask. Really. She wasn't going to--

"Like what?"

Being a cop was bad in this town.

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Well... What do you say to that?

"Interesting."

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Why did this place continue to make Gotham seem almost tame?

Minus the murder and crime rate, of course.

"Someone was a vending machine?" Renee asked, blinking at the thought of it.

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
"No one has shot at me yet, I could this as a good place to be for now," She replied dryly, watching the arm. "I'll take your word on that one."

[identity profile] not-an-answer.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
She was a cop, not some vigilante in spandex.

"You too. I hope your arm is better soon."
