The Open sign was on the door.

And Cable, of course, was inside. Seemingly a little more restless than usual, and spending some time in the back room with the bolted door. Security systems were now done, and he had things on his mind.

He's around, somewhere.

Ino showed up late morning, all cheerful-like, and slipped inside the store calling, "Good morning, Cable-san!"

The store was quiet, Cable's presence apparently elsewhere for the moment. A goodly chunk of the weapons seemed to all be locked up, too-- although the place didn't appear closed.

He could show up at any moment. Could.

Ino wandered over to the desk and leaned against it, looking around the shop, noting that more of the weapons were locked up. It was the first time she'd not gotten a response from him and that made her frown slightly. A quick glance in the meditation room proved he wasn't in there.

Hmm. She did have a lesson today, right?

"Morning."

Cable suddenly brushed past her, breaking the silence as if it had never been there at all, and moved into the shop.

Ino jumped slightly, and tried to cover it. "Good morning." Pause. Would he answer if she asked? It was worth a shot, right? "What were you doing, Cable-san?"

"Improvising." Cable moved through the shop for a moment, checking that the new defense system was still operational -- yes -- and then turned to face her. "Ready?"

Ino nodded. Then asked curiously, "Improvising what?" Was he going to keep giving her one word answers, 'cause that would get annoying. Not that it would stop her from asking though.

"Solutions." Looks like he was going to. But Cable smiled slightly as he said it. "We have a new security system," he said, "Don't let anyone go in the shooting range unattended."

"Okay, I can do that." Ino frowned slightly, "So, I've gotta be in there too if they want to use it, right? But I don't think I'll be any use really." Because, you know, she didn't have the faintest idea of what to do with guns. "Do you have a list or something of people allowed in?"

"Not yet." He moved past her again, now back towards the meditation room. "Don't worry about it. The security system will take care of any problems."

She tagged after him, "What'll the security system do in that case?" Yes, she was just full of questions this morning.

"Peaceful disarming of the problem," Cable replied vaguely. Well, as peaceful as possible. "I won't have any violence in my shop." Except for the controlled spars the meditation room was often privvy to.

Ino made a face at him. Didn't he ever get tired of being vague? "Will it hurt them?"

Not really. "Not really." He brushed into the meditation room. "But don't worry about it until there's a list."

"Will there be a list by Tuesday?" She persisted, "Or should I just use my own judgment?"

"If there's no list by Tuesday," Cable replied, settling down, "Keep it closed." There was no way he'd let anyone into that range without knowing.

Ino copied him, sitting down and nodding, "Not a problem."

It was probably bad form that she hoped someone showed up on Tuesday and she could turn them away, right? Or let them in and see what the security measures did.

"How do we want to start today?"

Zuko wasn't entirely sure what he was doing here, he just was curious about the store and the combination of weapons and meditation. It seemed like something that didn't much happen in Fandom so he found himself standing in the store, quite possibly trying not to be bored.

Having settled behind his desk for the moment, Cable cocked his head almost imperceptily at the new arrival. "Can I help you?" he asked.

"You have swords?" Zuko asked, glancing over at Cable.

"Mostly guns," Cable replied. Which he was a little leery about parting with, "But we do have some in stock." Which he wasn't quite as wary about.

"Dual blades?" Zuko inquired, not that he had a whole lot of money to buy any with. He was just curious as he hadn't seen any in Fandom before.

"Nothing we can't get in stock," Cable replied. Calmly. That might be interesting for his own personal arsenal (which, really, covered most of the items in the shop as well) at some point.

Well, that was disappointing. "Never mind," he replied, because he wasn't going to bring up the lack of money. He was the heir to the Fire Nation after all. "What about that meditation room?"

"It's accessible to whoever wants to use it," Cable noted, tapping a pen against his desk.

"For free?" he questioned. "Is there electricity inside?"

"For free," Cable echoed, "There's an outlet."

His shoulder sagged a little. "What about candles?"

His head cocked a little again. Amused. "No candles."

"I'm a firebender, meditating without candles is pointless," Zuko informed Nate. Not that he'd ever criticize a free service.

"It's a fire hazard," Cable replied calmly. Then studied the boy. "Firebender?" The rules of codenaming in his universe made him figure it was exactly as advertised. But it couldn't hurt to ask.

Zuko looked insulted at the thought that he might accidentally set fire. "Firebender," he confirmed, holding out a hand and he drew in a slow even breath as he conjured up a flame in the palm of his hand.

"I don't set things on fire unless I want to set them on fire," he added, just to make that clear. "Meditating teaches you how to control your firebreath and the fire that you create."

"Firebender. As it says on the tin." Cable glanced up at Zuko, crossing his arms. "I'll allow it."

Zuko wondered exactly what tin Cable meant, but he had been with Mel too long to try to understand everything. "I don't suppose you have any candles here then."

"No," Cable replied, "Bring your own or come back next week." Still mildly amused? Maybe. It was hard to tell.

"Fine," Zuko decided. "I'll see you next week."

"Next week."

Zuko got Cable's best customer service smile.

He'd been practicing.

Zuko nodded and turned to go. Sometimes it was good not having people insist on meaningless small talk.

Can't get to it without permission from Cable, and it's fully secured against... incidents.
