It wasn't that Kabuto hadn't seen snow before, it was just that it wasn't terribly common...unless one went to the Wave country. That was why Kabuto was running through some taijutsu exercises outside, instead of studying in his room.

There was always the temptation of snowballs once the snow got thick enough, but that just wasn't as fun without a target.

There was snow!

Teddy might be enjoying it a bit too much. He fell back, making a snow angel, oblivious to any devious ninjas about.

Kabuto bided his time, watching Teddy and waiting until he stood up. Which was when he fired off a snowball directly at Teddy's chest. But not his face, because that was just cruel.

Which sent Teddy falling backwards into the snow again. Mostly from shock than the force of it. "What the hell?!"

Kabuto laughed, watching Teddy flounder. Really, with all that purple, he didn't stick out or anything at all.

Teddy looked up toward the laughter, rolling his eyes. He wanted a snowball fight, huh?

Standing up and brushing himself off, Teddy scooped up a pile of snow to throw at the purple blob of ninja.

For the sake of fun, Kabuto let it hit him. At least, that's what he'd tell anyone. He grinned at Teddy, wiping snow off his shirt. "Nice throw."

Teddy grinned back, shrugging sheepishly. "You started it."

"I never denied that," Kabuto pointed out. "Do you get a lot of snow where you're from?"

Teddy nodded eagerly. "I'm from, well pretty much the same kind of weather as this place. Only I'm further north so even more snow."

"So this isn't unusual for you," Kabuto commented. "Enjoying it?"

The snow angel didn't give that away?

Teddy nodded again, sighing happily as he looked around. "It's always fun before the pollution makes it turn all gray."

"Why would it turn gray?" That was a surprise to the ninja. He was still used to the very non-polluted world he came from.

"Smog," Teddy replied, making a face.

"Smog?" Kabuto repeated. "Is that a problem here?" He...hadn't really noticed.

"Well, not really here, but when you get to the larger cities..."

"So why are you worried about the snow turning gray?" Kabuto asked, scooping up a handful of snow and balling it up. "It doesn't seem like it would be a problem." He threw the ball at Teddy.

Shielding himself with his arm, Teddy chuckled. "I'm from one of the biggest cities in the world! I'm just too used to it happening!"

Snowballs traveled a lot differently than kunai. It was an interesting study. "I suppose you have an excuse, then."

Nodding, Teddy scooped up snow and tossed it at him. "Exactly!"

Kabuto swatted it away with his hand, making a mental note that in the future, he really needed gloves with fingers. "Then I'll let you get away with it for now."

There was definitely a temptation to use ninja techniques. But no. Kabuto simply made another snowball and aimed carefully, instead.

Laughing Teddy tried to dodge, getting hit in the back instead. "Letting me?"

"Letting you," the ninja confirmed. Not that he really had any way of backing that up. But still. "So, snow expert. Is it going to keep snowing?"

Teddy nodded, and tossed a snowball back at him. "I dunno. Maybe? Check the weather channel!"

"Hmm. There might need to be an ambush later." Kabuto smirked, already making plans in his mind. "Busy later?"

Teddy eyed him warily. "As long as I'm part of it, and not the victim."

Kabuto grinned. "I was thinking more that you could help me. It's been a while since I did anything to with Ino..."

"In that case..." Teddy grinned. Well she was kinda family. In a way. Via Chad.

That made for a very gleeful ninja. Even if the obvious glee was very subdued. "Excellent. Everyone likes a good snowball fight, right?"

Nevermind that it would be two-against-one. Shh.

"Of course! It's like not liking kittens!"

Kabuto paused to give Teddy a flat look. "What about kittens?"

Teddy blinked, not sure what was wrong with what he said. "Everyone likes them?"

Kabuto had a thing against cats. "...Right. Everyone."

Like Teddy was aware of that.

"Well, most people. Don't you?"

"After having been one? I can appreciate their finer points, but I'm not a big fan of the creatures themselves." Kabuto scowled.

"Really?" Teddy asked, tilting his head at Kabuto. Yeah, he could see the cat. "I was a puppy."

"How charming," Kabuto replied dryly.

"It wasn't too bad, once you got over the barking thing," He continued sheepishly. Why he continued, he had no clue.

Teddy really should learn when to shut up. The look Kabuto gave him pretty much conveyed that.

If he could shrink without having to use his powers, Teddy so would.

"Sorry."

"Right. I have to work tonight, so I'll see you around, Teddy." Without waiting for a reply, Kabuto jumped up into the nearest tree and started tree-hopping back to the dorms.
