The Arms Hotel Lobby, Monday [12/10]

Mary had requested gingerbread cookies. Instead, Gunther was going all out and building her a gingerbread house. It certainly looked nice, except Mary still wanted her cookies and she was hungry. So when Gunther wasn't looking, she swiped a piece of the gingerbread chimney and ate it.

Stan ambled in, feeling like he had not been there in weeks. Gingerbread house? Nice!

...where's the chimney?

Mary smiled at the complete stranger. Wait, that stranger looked a bit familiar... "Have we met before?" she asked with a grin.

"I believe so," he said with a small smirk. "You look familiar."

"You've been staying away for a while," said Mary, tilting her head slightly as she looked at him. "What's been keeping you so busy?"

"I've... I've gotten a bit more involved with my fantasy sports teams than I should have," he admitted. "It's too easy to stay glued to the computer and not get anything productive done." He looked sheepish. "Have I missed anything important?" 'For Mary' was the inference.

"There hasn't been a whole lot going on around here lately," said Mary. "I went home with George Michael for Thanksgiving to meet his family. That was interesting. Then I went to the mainland last week to do some Christmas shopping and start looking to rent out Ed's condo now that he's not around."

"Oh? George Michal's family and the condo? You've been busy!"

"It keeps me out of trouble," said Mary with a smirk of her own.

"Which is good, because I'm not sure if my Get Out Of Jail Free card is still valid," he said with a wink.

Mary winced at the word "jail." She started fiddling with the charm bracelet on her wrist. "Yeah, well, you know, when I can only make one phone call, there's a few other people higher on the list than you."

"Understandable," he said, catching his gaffe a bit too late. "However, I'll still be in the phone book once you get your third or fourth call."

"Or maybe I'll get to skip jail altogether," said Mary. "I got my hands on a Las Vegas paper the other day and it had some mention of Danny as the new president of operations at the Montecito."

"THat's good news?" he asked. "Jail is not a fun place."

"Danny and I were in the same kind of trouble," explained Mary, "and there's no way he could get a license from the gaming commission unless he came out squeaky clean."

"So that is good news. Excellent, Mary," he said, with a smile.

"The legal stuff is the last little bit of my nightmare that I'd have to deal with, but right now, I'm feeling stronger than ever before," said Mary. "I was such a wreck when I first got here, and now everything seems to have fallen into place around me."

"THat's good news," he said. "I'm glad that things are finally coming together for you."

"On the other hand, you need to get out a lot more often," said Mary with a bossy look on her face.

"This is true," he said, sheepishly. "I spend too much time with the journals and the football."

He didn't mention the video games.

"What would the good doctor prescribe for a patient who spent too much time at home?" asked Mary.

"Probably some outdoor recreation," he said. "Bridge club, social events. Holiday parties, even," he pointed out.

"Sounds like a good idea," said Mary. "Do we even have any of those around here? I know I'll be throwing a party at some point during the holidays. I just haven't decided when."

"Social events? I've heard about them. THey're mostly calle Caritas, I believe," he smirked.

"You should go out more often. There's Caritas, the Perk, JGOB, the Banana Stand..." No, Mary was not promoting her boyfriend's business. Really, she wasn't.

"Hrm...Maybe I should venture out more often. The weather doesn't help," he pointed out.
