Book Haven: Tuesday 10-5PM [12-11-07]

Millie opened the store and set out Christmas goodies for customers. Then she settled in with a good book and a warm cat on her lap.

"I believe so," Millie said cheerfully. "I do not actually have much to do."

"That's good. You won't have any last-minute scrambling like I tend to do," said Mary, smiling. "I wanted to give gifts to my employees this year, but I'm a bit stumped on what to give Jeff and Hoshi."

"That must have been easy," said Mary, smiling. "And I know exactly what book to get for River, which is why I'm here today. I'm sure Hoshi would probably go for a book as well. Jeff is a bit tougher. On top of that, I just started seeing someone a month ago and I have no idea what to get him."

"The shopping is a lot nicer in Fandom than on the mainland," said Mary. "I went to one of the malls last week while doing some business on the mainland and it was a zoo."

"I was dressed more appropriately for Las Vegas, not mainland Virginia, I guess," said Mary. "I need to remember to bring my big, baggy sweatshirt next time."

"It's really not so difficult," Mary tried to reassure her, even though in her mind she knew it was pretty complicated. "What's acceptable in one city is different from how they dress in another city. You just have to be really aware of what everyone else is wearing."
